TharsternSQL v4 previewed at Drupa

Monday 19. May 2008 - As the Print Industry revs up for Drupa 08 Tharstern have unveiled their plans for the show including the launch of TharsternSQL v4 (T4).

On this occasion Tharstern’s ever growing International presence will be hard to miss with representatives from Tharstern Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus and South Africa, and members of the team from the recently opened branch office of India.

Abdul Kassas, Director commented. “Tharstern is growing year on year and is becoming a global leader in Print Management Information Solutions with offices, distributors and customers across the world and so Drupa has never been more appropriate.”

Abdul added, “We attribute part of our success to our close relationship with our customers enabling us to provide innovative solutions in sync with industry needs. Our aim has always been to pave the way by incorporating new technologies and introducing new functionality that better serves the industry. Therefore, in keeping with our reputation visitors to our stand can be confident that they will see a big focus on the benefits of a JDF workflow in reality as well as an introduction to T4 and a preview of the new version of our e-commerce solution, e4print.”

The latest incarnation of the powerful SQL based Print MIS solution is being kept closely under wraps until the show but some of the new functionality expected includes the extended support for the Print Management, Roll Labels and Multi-Web Printers. Interestingly, tools to help the environmentally conscious printer have been incorporated and as you would expect, the JDF based functionality is much richer than earlier versions, offering greater control and automation of the workflow.

The previously announced Executive Intelligence Pack will also be showcased, highlighting the revolutionised dynamic reporting pack that employs the use of real-time KPI Dashboards.

Existing Tharstern users will, no doubt, be interested to see the enhancements to the interface and existing features which will be on show. To mention a few; Warehousing & Fulfilment support; automatic cost posting options; Purchase Order authorisation – now based on users, products and services as well as credit limits; plus the Non Conformance and Print Passport features to track and ensure departmental compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.

Drupa is also being used as Tharstern’s platform to preview the next version of e4print, which has benefited from a complete interface re-design and extra functionality to support web-to-print workflows.

Tharstern will be exhibiting on stand 5-A43 but an official UK launch of TharsternSQL v4 is planned for Customers and Printers in the UK who are unable to make it to Düsseldorf. Details to be announced soon.
