NEW PRODUCTS FROM SWITZERLAND
Thursday 08. May 2008 - FAG Graphic Systems, Lausanne, the well-known supplier of measuring and streamlining systems for the printing industry, has added four new and interesting control systems to its product portfolio.
The FAG BrailleScan for checking Braille on packaging and labels.
Its hard enough to recognize errors in plain type so how much more difficult is it to do this with Braille! But everyone active in this field knows how important it is to be able to check texts and ensure they are error-free.
The device reads Braille texts with a maximum size of 40 x 120 mm at a maximum speed of 120 m/min. The FAG BrailleScan sensor reads the Braille, translates it into plain text, and compares this with a text input by the user.
FAG SpectraScan for densitometrical inline color control on sheetfed presses.
The new device is based on the same measuring technology known from hand-held densitometers. And the dimensions of the device are just as small. The light source, color and polarizing filters, and the sensor are all integrated in the compact measuring head. The device is installed on a crossbar above the sheet transport track and is easy to position. Several measuring heads can be used depending on the requirements.
A special control strip that is printed across the ink fountain width but can be positioned anywhere on the sheet is scanned. A mark at the beginning of the control strip triggers each individual measurement and always for a different measuring patch. With up to 20 measurements per second, the speed leaves nothing to be desired.
FAG PIT, an electronic microscope that connects to a desktop computer or laptop.
Enlarge – Measure – Log – Print Out – Send: Fascinatingly practical, versatile, easy to use and inexpensive: the digital “pocket microscope”.
It doesnt have an eyepiece so you dont look into it. Instead, the FAG PIT connects to your desktop computer or laptop through its USB port. After installing the software the user has a digital microscope with a zoom factor of up to 140x. The image recorded by a built-in camera is shown immediately on the computer screen. And this image can be measured, stored, printed out and e-mailed. Recorded facts put an end to discussions that always arise due to subjective perception and lead to disagreements.
FAG NewScan, an inexpensive solution for visual web control.
This video control system scans the running web of a web press. The small dimensions enable the system to be fitted to practically all machines.
A reverse flash source enables front-to-back register to be checked and both sides of the web are shown on one screen.
