A growing demand for sustainable products calls for closer cooperation between companies with green ambitions. Two of those, Superfos and Aquados, have successfully and jointly developed an eco-friendly packaging solution for an eco-friendly product

The focus on sustainability and carbon footprint is rising among politicians, consumers and global retailers resulting in a growing demand for sustainable products and packaging solutions. But success within environmentally friendly solutions only comes through close cooperation between companies who truly seek a sustainable solution.

Eco-smart washing producer Aquados and packaging manufacturer Superfos are two such companies. As they both aim to reach a smaller carbon footprint, they have formed a green partnership with an eco-friendly packaging solution as a first result.

“We are very proud of our new tubs made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials. A natural choice, since our washing powder within the tub is the most eco-friendly of its kind on the market,” says Operations Director Alex Thompson from Aquados.

The right partner
It took several years to find the right solution for Aquados. A number of solutions were tested, but failed as they did not meet the company’s exacting standards of quality and performance, however when Aquados embarked on the cooperation with Superfos the process gathered pace.

“I am impressed with Superfos’ professionalism and their ability to overcome the problems of introducing a completely new material into their manufacturing process. Though the new tub meets our environmental requirements, it still possesses the right air-tight quality and transit performance that earlier tested solutions failed to achieve. Furthermore, the decoration provides an eye-catching packaging solution,” says Alex Thompson.

As for Superfos, the Aquados tub is the first product in a new Eco packaging line made of 100% post consumer materials that are still 100% recyclable. The green design will be followed by many other Superfos products in the near future.
