INCA DIGITAL DISPLAYS ITS UV INKJET PROWESS AT DRUPA

FastJet

Wednesday 30. April 2008 - World leading digital wide format and packaging applications

At Drupa, leading inkjet manufacturer Inca Digital and its key partners will promote its extremely popular range of innovative inkjet printers developed to deliver quality printing for high-volume wide format display and corrugated packaging applications.

Inca Digital will highlight the impressive flexibility of its digital UV inkjet printing systems through three very different printing solutions: the Inca Onset, the world’s fastest UV flatbed printer; the best-selling and award winning Inca Spyder 320; and the single pass full colour corrugated board printer, the FastJet?.

A part of the Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd group of companies since 2005, Inca will be based on the Screen booth (Hall 8b, Stand A62) where Inca experts will be available to provide information about Inca machines, provide inkjet technology advice and discuss inkjet opportunities.

Inca exploded into the market in 2000 with the first ever digital UV flatbed printer, and has launched 14 successful new product variants into the market to date. The company has experienced a 28 fold increase in its number of employees since the year 2000 and it still considers it important that a third of those Inca staff operate within R&D disciplines.

“As a specialist inkjet engineering company we work with partners such as Fujifilm Sericol, Screen and Sun Chemical to bring innovative printing systems to market” says Bill Baxter, MD of Inca Digital. “The speed and quality of inkjet is at the point where many pioneering products are now commercially viable and there’s no doubt that this Drupa will mark a significant inkjet milestone in the evolution of inkjet technology.”

Inca flatbed printers distributed by Fujifilm (Hall 8b, Stand A25) –
Inca Onset: The impressive Inca Onset, rated as the world’s fastest and fully automated digital UV flatbed printer has had a major impact on the industry following its debut last year. Industry response to this record breaking printer has been so high that Inca’s machine production has been increased to meet demand. Seven of the flagship systems have already been installed in Europe, USA and Canada at companies requiring high-volume production. These include: SP Group (UK), Holland & Crosby (CA) and Graphic World (NL) and C2 Media (US).

The Onset is ‘big’ in every sense of the word with throughput up to 500sqm/hr (5382sqft/hr), the printer’s performance and capabilities will be presented at the show using video and samples.

Inca Spyder 320: The Spyder range is Inca’s top selling printer and has been installed in over 25 countries since the first model was launched in 2005. At Drupa the latest 8-colour Inca Spyder 320 printer will be demonstrated live and features the stunning results produced by the new Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet Ultratone enhanced colour set, developed specifically for this machine.

The Spyder 320 range uses Inca proprietary print modules to provide crisp print quality. A variety of configurations are available: four-colour, six-colour, eight-colour and an entry level model, as well as a white option for added flexibility.

Fujifilm and Fujifilm Sericol representatives will available on the stand to discuss all of Inca’s flatbed products, machine specifications and pricing.

Sun Chemical FastJet? (Hall 6, Stand B75) developed in partnership with Inca –
FastJet: the FastJet is an innovative ‘single pass’ fixed head UV inkjet printer designed to print corrugated board sheets in full colour at high speeds. First shown in its pre-prototype version at Drupa 2004, this is a joint development by Sun Chemical and Inca Digital. The FastJet is another first of its kind innovation for Inca and delivers quality single pass inkjet printing, targeting short and medium run flexographic print work for transit and shelf ready packaging. The FastJet features a unique Inca designed printhead configuration to achieve tremendous speed advantage. The printhead array prints a width of 1040mm (41in) at a resolution of 300×200 dpi in less than 1 second per square metre. As a result the FastJet prints at a rate of up to 6,000 sqm/hr on corrugated substrates up to 1.7 metres long!

Sun Chemical is organising twice daily trips from Drupa to visit the first FastJet customer installation in Germany. Visitors interested in seeing FastJet in operation are kindly requested to contact Stefan Slembrouck (Stefan.Slembrouck@sunchemical.com) for more details.
