Workflow
ppi Media to present its new publishing and printing solutions at the drupa
Friday 25. April 2008 - MAN Roland and ppi Media will share a joint stand in Hall 6, Stand 28
Under the motto “radical changes in newspaper publishing” ppi Media – as co-exhibitor of MAN Roland – will present its latest products and developments for crossmedia use in print, online and mobile at the drupa from 29 May to 11 June 2008.
Favorable prognoses in online advertising are an excellent opportunity for newspaper publishers to regain lost territory. A prerequisite for this, however, is the strengthening of long-term incentives in online advertising. In order to integrate the planning, reservation, production and publication of online ads in an existing ppi workflow, ppi Media has developed an innovative solution that it will present in Düsseldorf. As in advertising, information is also increasingly obtained from the internet. The new content flow system felix supports media-compatible, target-group-specific processing of editorial content for different output channels. felix not only ensures increased efficiency and transparency in editorial topic planning, content lifecycle management and work organization, but also creates the prerequisites for an attractive advertising environment.
Apart from publishing solutions, new developments in printnet, the joint workflow management system for printing houses developed by ppi Media and MAN Roland, will also be at the focus of attention. The output management system printnet OM has been upgraded with a wide range of new features and now supports MAN Roland’s new APL (Automatic Plate Loading) system. This creates a highly automated and efficient prepress workflow from page assembly to printing. In order to use printing capacities at newspaper printing houses to the full, ppi Media has developed a completely new version of its JobEntry module. In the future, a graphic dummy will allow users to plan print products efficiently and to define common pages and color separations at the click of a mouse. Equipped with a preview function and a technical feasibility check, the new JobEntry system ensures maximum transparency and security in commercial newspaper production.
