XAAR APPROVES TOYO LIOJET INKJET INK FOR XAAR 760 PRINTHEAD

Wednesday 16. April 2008 - - Toyo Liojet FV03 inkjet inks for rigid substrates approved for Xaar 760 printheads - Toyo's thorough quality control ensures high level of consistency - Delivers confidence required for emerging 'single-pass' inkjet print market

Xaar is delighted to announce that it has approved TOYO Ink MFG. CO.LTD Liojet FV03 inks for use with the Xaar 760 range of printheads. TOYO Ink has been active for many years in the digital inkjet business, holding a well-deserved reputation for creating inks that consistently deliver outstanding results.

To receive Xaar ‘Approved’ status, the TOYO Liojet FV03 ink designed for printing on rigid substrates had to meet Xaar’s thorough test criteria, including material compatibility, printhead lifetime testing, print performance and extended reliability testing. As a result users can be assured that this ink offers excellent resolution, colour and mechanical properties, resulting in the highest performance when used in conjunction with Xaar’s 760 printheads.

Mr Kazuya Yamashita, sales and marketing manager for inkjet business at TOYO Ink, expresses the company’s delight with the award: “We are very happy to gain Xaar approval as its standards are extremely high. Gaining this endorsement enables our customers to use our inks in Xaar’s advanced printheads with absolute confidence, which is becoming increasingly important as the single pass inkjet printing market emerges.”

Xaar’s confidence in Liojet inks is partly due to TOYO Ink’s firm policy on quality control. As the company is involved in both the development and the manufacturing of pigments and inks, it is able to regulate the entire production line using TQM (Total Quality Management), and every single product is 100% sampled for final quality inspection before shipping. The three basic performance characteristics tested by TOYO Ink are: purity, consistency and compatibility. For Xaar, the alliance with companies such as TOYO Ink means that they can be confident that its printheads will achieve optimum results expected by their customers, avoiding considerable problems including blockage and failure of printhead components which come as a result of printing with substandard, third party, unapproved inks.

Xaar has had a long relationship with TOYO Ink. It became a Xaar ink licensee in 1999 and since then has supplied ink to Xaar’s manufacturing and OEM partners worldwide. Dr Jill Woods, Ink Product Manager at Xaar: “TOYO Ink is synonymous with innovation and performance. Already strong in the Asian market, the company is expanding into Europe and our endorsement of the Liojet ink further widens the extensive choice of Xaar certified ink manufacturers and users can use with confidence.”
