The 300th Corona Goes to MIB
Wednesday 16. April 2008 - With the sale of the 300th Corona to the Münchner Industriebuchbinderei (MIB), a bookbindery in Munich, Muller Martini has set a new landmark in the high-performance perfect binder segment.
Eleven years ago, MIB put two modular binders from Muller Martini into operation. This spring, one of them will be giving way to a new Corona C13. Christian Meister, Managing Director at MIB, is clearly very proud that it is his company to which the 300th Corona has been sold. In a slightly ironic reference to the two perfect binders of the same type used at the sister company, Wennberg Grossbuchbinderei in Vaihingen on the Enz, he said: “You could say that every 100th Corona comes to us.”
At the handover ceremony at Muller Martini Bookbinding Systems in Felben in Switzerland, Christian Meister spoke enthusiastically about why he had chosen the Corona C13. “We have great confidence in the technology and in the staff at Muller Martini and we particularly value the good service they offer.”
To mark the occasion, Christian Meister received a large Swiss cow bell from Michael Thüler, the Managing Director at Muller Martini Bookbinding Systems. He was delighted, he said, to be celebrating this event with an important customer and thanked Christian Meister for the many years they had worked together, “creating a successful partnership based on trust.” He continued: “With the purchase of the new Corona perfect binder, MIB has set a new landmark in this partnership.”
This special perfect binder will be put into operation with the new ZTM 3697 high-performance gathering machine at MIB. This machine was presented a few weeks earlier to a wider public in Felben.

Success Story
The Corona is the most successful high-performance perfect binder in the world. The prototype line was installed in Germany at the end of 1994. It is still in use today. The success story really started at drupa 1995. Up to now, 299 Coronas, across a range of models – C12, C13, C15, C18 and CoronaCompact CC12 – have been installed. According to Michael Thüler, Managing Director at Muller Martini Bookbinding Systems, this machine was and is an important piece in the mosaic that is the excellent worldwide reputation of Muller Martini perfect binders.
