Kodak Offers 50 Percent Speed Increase with VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus Printing System

Wednesday 16. April 2008 - New device meets the demand for higher speeds in the transactional market

Already meeting the needs of leading print service providers and transactional printers with the highest process color speed available, the KODAK VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus Printing System has increased its top speed by 50 percent. The VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System is ideal for the production of transactional statements, TransPromo documents, and other non photo color applications such as charts, colored text and highlights.
With the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System, Kodak reaffirms its commitment to provide scaleable solutions that enable low costs and high margins for its customers. The 750 feet per minute (fpm) mode of the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System can deliver even higher throughput and greater efficiency, while still allowing for full variable color with transactional documents.
“For customers needing higher throughput for transactional documents, the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System is the perfect choice,” said Ronen Cohen, Vice President, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “In a transactional environment, speed and costs are key considerations to remain competitive. The speed afforded by the VX5000 Plus gives fast turnaround times for variable data jobs while spreading fixed costs over more documents.”
Boasting a throughput speed of 750 fpm, the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System produces output at 300 dpi x 300 dpi and offers an affordable, flexible solution for commercial printers, data centers, or corporate enterprises. The device is available in multiple configurations, from monochrome to spot color to process color, and simplex or duplex at 1 up or 2 up, and enables printers to take advantage of completely integrated end to end printing and finishing, with pre and post processing equipment tightly integrated into the paper handling. Users continue to have the option of higher resolution output at 300 dpi x 600 dpi, with a speed of 500 fpm.
Capable of producing completely variable data at full speed in a variety of configurations, the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System is part of the KODAK VERSAMARK V-Series Printing Systems. All VERSAMARK Printing Systems are modular and scaleable, providing an easy upgrade path to buyers as their businesses grow and demands change.
“With the VERSAMARK VX5000 Plus System, Kodak continues to provide customers with the favored solution for high speed in the digital market,” added Isidre Rosello, General Manager, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “This is yet another example of Kodak’s process color solutions keeping pace with the speeds of our world class monochrome solutions and setting the pace of the industry.”
