Tansa debuts new Workgroup Edition

Monday 31. March 2008 - New subscription-based service allows small publishers to more cost effectively deploy Tansa in their newsrooms

Tansa Systems is pleased to announce the release of the Tansa Text Proofing System 3, Workgroup Edition.

With minimal start-up costs, no customer server hardware requirements, and a per-user monthly licensing fee, the Workgroup Edition is intended to make it easier and more affordable for small publishers to take advantage of Tansa’s proofing tools.

Tansa Systems will host the Workgroup Edition server application software at the company’s datacenters. Workgroup Edition clients will access those servers using their Internet connections.

“Our standard enterprise solution requires more of a financial and technical commitment than many small daily newspapers, weekly newspapers and small magazines could afford,” said Tansa Systems AS Managing Director Morten Krøtø. “The Workgroup Edition addresses those concerns.”

Workgroup Edition customers in the U.S.A. will utilize English dictionaries based on Webster’s New World College Dictionary (4th edition) and the AP Stylebook from the Associated Press. Local dictionary administrators at each Workgroup Edition site will be allowed to customize their publication’s dictionary. All of the server-based text proofing functionality available in the enterprise edition is also available in the Workgroup Edition.

The Workgroup Edition will be available for small publishers – up to 25 named users – that use one of the following desktop editing applications:

Adobe InCopy CS2, CS3 (Windows XP, Mac OS X)
Adobe InDesign CS2, CS3 (Windows XP, Mac OS X)
Microsoft Word 2003, 2007 (Windows XP)
QuarkCopyDesk 3.6 (Windows XP, Mac OS X)
QuarkXPress 6.5 (Windows XP, Mac OS X)
Tansa Systems will be showing the latest Tansa System 3 software, including the Workgroup Edition, in Booth #1945 at the NEXPO 2008 conference and tradeshow, in Washington, D.C., from April 12-15.
