FESPA Appoints Ambassador For Asia-Pacific Region
Monday 10. March 2008 - FESPA has announced the appointment of Adhiwatra Chanapokakul as FESPAs Asia-Pacific Ambassador, with responsibility for communicating regularly with FESPAs national associations and members in Asia-Pacific, strengthening existing relationships and forging new ones within the print community.
Adhiwatra will help drive FESPAs core aims of supporting and encouraging local printers with knowledge-based initiatives, including specialised training schemes and workshops tailored to the needs of printers in the region. As ambassador, he will promote best practice in the screen and digital printing industry, helping companies differentiate themselves, gain competitive advantage and increase profitability.
He will report to Asia-Pacific Event Director Marcus Timson, who comments: “We are delighted to welcome Adhiwatra to the FESPA team. Based in Bangkok, Adhiwatra will be easily accessible by the entire Asia-Pacific print community. His knowledge and understanding of the Asian market means that we will be able to help develop focussed FESPA initiatives that effectively support and meet the needs of printers in the region. In the run-up to FESPA World Expo Asia-Pacific 2008 (BITEC exhibition centre, Bangkok, 28th – 30th November) and with the continuing rapid growth of the Asian screen and digital printing market, we felt that it was the ideal time to appoint an Ambassador for the region. In Adhiwatra we have the ideal candidate.”
Adhiwatra brings over 18 years combined sales and management experience to the role of FESPA Ambassador. Having worked for large multinational companies over the last 15 years, he has a deep understanding of business in the region and a proven ability to develop effective customer relationships to significantly grow the client base. Prior to joining FESPA, he worked as General Manager for Dermal Concept Co., Ltd. in Bangkok, where he was in charge of promoting and distributing the leading Dermalogica brands to the Thai market. This FMCG experience will provide FESPA and our membership with unique insight into selling retail products to the consumer market.
Adhiwatra comments: “I am thrilled to be working with a globally recognised print industry authority like FESPA. The FESPA World Expo Asia-Pacific exhibition in November 2008 fulfils a long-standing need for a high-calibre, international imaging event in the region. As Asia-Pacific Ambassador, I look forward to being part of this and other FESPA initiatives at a very exciting time for the Asian printing market.”
