Booth: #2761 – Visioneer
Date: March 3-6, 2008
“This is an amazing convergence of product and technology in the Visioneer and Xerox(R) scanner lines. OneTouch 5 will completely alter the IT manager and the business user’s perception and expectations of the SCAN button for desktop and enterprise imaging workflows. It includes enterprise features that will improve security and remote device management. The Xerox DocuMate(R) 765 will be the first product jointly developed by Visioneer and BOWE BELL + HOWELL and expands the DocuMate line of comprehensive solutions for any desktop to production scanning requirements. It is not to be missed. The Xerox DocuMate 262i will employ a front feed mechanism that not only improves ID card scanning efficiency but drastically improves roller wear,” said John Capurso, vice president of marketing for Visioneer.
Preview Next Generation Scanning & Architecture
Visioneer will preview the next generation of the OneTouch scanning technology that changed the perception of ease of use in document scanning. The OneTouch 5 scanning architecture will again transform document scanning and imaging workflows for all users, in every environment whether mobile, desktop, workgroup or production.
As a follow-up to the November 2007 strategic development agreement with BOWE BELL + HOWELL, Visioneer will demonstrate the first scanner being developed under this partnership, the Xerox DocuMate 765, a 65 ppm/110 ipm duplex production scanner for the document imaging market. The DocuMate 765 will be the first scanner to ship with Visioneer’s OneTouch 5 software and includes an A3 sized (11″x17″) ADF that holds 150 pages, VRS Pro with AIPE/EBC, and has an integrated LCD on the front to monitor scan jobs and OneTouch settings.
Production scanners are most often used for archiving documents to a safe, reliable digital master, converting paper to digital for document workflows, and extracting data from forms such as invoices, medical claims, tax documents and many other forms.
AIIM Expo attendees can also view a technology demonstration of a new front feed tray on the Xerox DocuMate 262i. A 38 ppm/76 ipm duplex scanner features a new patent-pending front feed tray for ID cards which makes it ideal for the healthcare and financial services markets. The new front feed tray will reduce the cost of consumables by up to 60% when scanning ID cards. Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection and a robust software bundle round out the DocuMate 262i.
The Xerox DocuMate 765, DocuMate 262i and Visioneer OneTouch 5 will be formally announced in the coming months. Visioneer will have key sales and marketing executives on hand to answer questions about Visioneer’s strategic direction and how the demonstrated technologies change the way that enterprises and business users scan documents. One-on-one media briefings and product demonstrations are being scheduled upon request.
