XXL paper formats from UPM

Friday 29. February 2008 - As one of the few suppliers of XXL paper formats on the market, UPM offers a paper solution for printers who have invested in the new XXL large-format printing presses.

Since mid-2007, UPM has had the capacity to cut sheet formats up to 2.10 metres long in the Group’s own Service Centre in Dörpen/Germany, NorService GmbH. “The format finishing line at our paper mill UPM Nordland Papier can cut formats up to a maximum of 1.90 metres. Thanks to the modified cross-cutter, we can now produce extra-large formats in our Service Centre,” says Herbert Hennig Managing Director of NorService.

With the market introduction of new XXL sheet-fed machines such as the KBA Rapida 205 or the MAN Roland 900 XXL, demand for extra large paper formats is expanding massively. Above all, XXL printing guarantees efficiency, since large-format posters can be pasted together from fewer parts. XXL formats also provide increased benefits in the production of books, packaging or labels and printing becomes faster and more cost-effective.
