Dainippon Screen Starts a New Advertising Campaign in Anticipation of drupa 2008

“Your Wish is Our Print On Demand”

Wednesday 20. February 2008 - With the Slogan "Your Wish is Our Print On Demand", Screen Aims to Become the World’s Top Vendor of POD Equipment

The Media Technology Company (President: Kyohei Fujisawa) of Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan) is declaring a new aim: to become the top vendor of POD (Print On Demand) systems, which are used to create printed products in the exact amounts and at the exact times needed. In furtherance of this goal, Screen will be starting a new worldwide advertising campaign later this month, as detailed below, in anticipation of drupa 2008, the world’s largest international printing equipment exhibition, which will take place in Germany at the end of May.
Screen is already the top vendor of CtP equipment in the world, thanks to its diverse lineup of CtP products. Screen looks forward to further enhancing its reputation as a leading company in the printing and prepress equipment field at drupa 2008, while taking aim at the top spot worldwide in the market for digital printing systems, which are perfect for POD applications.
The printing industry is shifting away from mass production, and has become increasingly focused on providing added value through more personalized production. Inkjet technology is expected to be suitable for a wide range of uses, and Screen looks forward to using the printing and prepress technology it has developed over the years to create even higher added-value inkjet POD systems suitable for a variety of fields, ranging from direct mail/transpromo, satellite newspaper printing, and banner and illuminated sign printing to industrial printing.
The campaign slogan for Screen as it gears up for drupa 2008 expresses all of these ideas: “Your Wish is Our Print On Demand”. Screen, which is striving to be as green as possible, will be producing advertisements highlighting the added value provided by POD, and hopes that the campaign will also increase awareness of environmental concerns in the printing and prepress fields. This campaign will target customers worldwide, and will appear in industry publications in Japan, North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. It will also be web published and presented on Screen’s website, as well as a variety of other media, for the next four months (counting from today’s opening of Media Square Kyoto).
Through this new campaign, Screen hopes to increase awareness of its brand in the printing industry, which is ever more focused on POD, and to make clients aware of Screen’s new business style. POD will now be one of the Media Technology Company’s core responsibilities, and Screen hopes it will both increase the company’s business and help promote its environmental goals.
