Megaink launches new XA ink line

Monday 18. February 2008 - New 3rd generation product line from leading ink developer for HP’s Scitex Grand, XL1200 and XL1500 super-wide format printers

Following on a series of recent breakthrough developments, Megaink announced today the launch of yet another new product line, its new 3rd generation inks for HP’s super-wide format Scitex printers, the XL1200, XL1500 and the Grand.

This 3rd generation of the high performance, long-lasting product line for Scitex printers is called XA. During development, XA inks underwent extensive testing to ensure outstanding print quality, vivid colors, and to enable cost-effective production. While the inks can print at extremely fast speeds, improving productivity, they have been carefully optimized specifically for HP Scitex printers, to guarantee consistency and quality in production.

XA inks are suitable for fast printing and for most media applications including banners, billboards, pop-ups, posters, signs, textiles, vehicles, and wall paper, amongst others. The inks are particularly excellent for printing backlit indoor and outdoor boxes. Avi Bukai, Megaink Director of Business Development noted that,

“To get good results with backlit indoor and outdoor boxes you have to print on both sides of the materials, with precise accuracy. This is where problems usually occur as the ink generally does not dry well, and when the material is turned-over for reverse-side printing, the already printed side gets damaged. The HP Scitex XL1200, XL1500 and Grand printers are really some of the best printers for these applications on the market, but unfortunately, few inks are able to match them. That is why we’ve spent a great deal of time crafting these new high-performance products; to offer a truly high-quality ink product to match these high-quality printers.”

Explaining the inspiration behind the new line’s name, Megaink’s Director, Andrej Keblusek said,

“The “X” refers to the main types of printers the new inks are developed for, HP’s Scitex Grand, XL1200 and XL1500, while the “A” refers to Argentina, the place which inspired Megaink to come up with the new line and where most of the research was done.”

Later this year Megaink also plans to release its revolutionary and successful BioMG inks, made from renewable resources, for these printers.
