FUJIFILM INTRODUCES THE FRONTIER DRY MINILAB 400
Friday 25. January 2008 - Frontier Dry Minilab 400 Inkjet Economical and Customizable for New and Traditional Photofinishers
FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. continues to expand Frontier Solutions and today announced the Fujifilm Frontier Dry Minilab 400, for dry photo lab operations. Featuring an Ink Jet print engine, the Frontier Dry Minilab 400 will provide both new market entrants and traditional photofinishers with an economical and customizable, dry printing solution that leverages Fujifilm’s proven user interface for retail photo lab workflow.
The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 incorporates Fujifilm’s new Frontier Workflow Management Software “MS” featuring its acclaimed Image Intelligence, which provides excellent Frontier-quality prints. For over 70 years, Fujifilm has been at the forefront of developing and improving image quality through Fujifilm’s proprietary Image Intelligence technology. This technology optimizes images to ensure the consistently high quality prints that characterize Fujifilm photofinishing solutions.
Employing a four cartridge dye ink system that uses a durable piezoelectric ink jet head, it generates the first 4 x 6 inch print under one minute, up to 650 prints per hour (1300 prints per hour with dual configuration). A single printer can produce up to 250 8″ x 10″ prints per hour. The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 allows for multiple stackable printer configurations that can produce 3.5″x5″, 4″x6″, 8″x10″, and panorama prints up to 10″x36″.
Expanding Frontier Solutions
By utilizing Fujifilm’s Image Intelligence, dye ink components, and Fujifilm’s high quality dry photo paper, the Frontier Dry Minilab 400 produces a high quality Frontier print. Fujifilm’s Quality Dry Photo Paper incorporates Fujifilm’s renowned coating technology and is available in Glossy and Luster surfaces.
“The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 is the newest addition in our ‘Expanding Frontier Solutions’ effort. The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 is a compact, easy-to-use system that requires a low capital investment,” said Thomas Curley, director of marketing, Imaging Division, FUJIFILM U.S.A. “The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 also offers retailers a customizable solution that quickly produces high-quality prints. The convenience of this system makes the Frontier Dry Minilab 400 ideal for anywhere a dry photofinishing solution is needed.”
The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 has a streamline design, with high quality technology and a minimal footprint and no special power requirements.
The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 can be customized with accessories, such as a print sorter to separate customer orders. The Frontier Dry Minilab 400 sorter option automatically stacks customer orders and holds up to eight orders of 5″ x 7″ prints. Enlargements are put into a separate output tray. Plus, the “back printer” identifies customer order numbers and includes print correction values that allow for customized printing on the back of photos. In addition to handling the retail customer’s digital image orders for prints, the Frontier Dry Minilab 400 is fully integrated with a high-speed film scanning solution, the Frontier SP500 Scanner, as an option.
As an added benefit to retailers, the Frontier Dry Minilab 400 can integrate into a photofinisher’s existing Frontier system for prints in minutes, hours or days through connecting to Fujifilm’s GetPix Kiosk Solutions, Fujicolor Processing, and Fujifilm’s Get the Picture Online Service network.
