New Wasatch COLORIP Upgrade Supports CS3 Files and Microsoft Vista
Monday 14. January 2008 - Wasatch Computer Technology has released the Wasatch COLORIP Upgrade, offering additional capabilities and compatibility to thousands of Roland owners around the world.
With it, COLORIP users gain support of the latest file formats and operating systems, third party media profiles, and premium features including 16-bit color, direct to layout workflows, and pre-RIP nesting. The COLORIP upgrade is available for $299 directly from Wasatch or any Wasatch Reseller
“Roland devices are well known for quality and durability,” says Wasatch Vice President Jay Griffin. “The COLORIP Upgrade breathes new life into existing PRO II devices so users can continue to profit with their existing hardware investment.”
Premium Color with 16-Bit Rendering
Previous releases of COLORIP were based on 8-bit rendering. This means that some color data and quality were inherently lost in the printing process. Wasatch’s new 16-bit color pipeline maintains color data to produce output that is truly faithful to the original source image. Color subtleties and gradients in raster images are maintained with enormous detail. Vector gradients are perfectly smooth at any output size. The difference is particularly dynamic when printing with lower quality consumables.
Direct-to-Layout Workflows
With the Wasatch COLORIP Upgrade, you can use the traditional COLORIP workflow or streamline your production with the new Wasatch layout designer. The SoftRIP Direct-to-Layout Workflow uses the full width of your media as a digital canvas. Drag-and-drop images into the layout window from the integrated file browser and prepare them to print as a part of your overall print run. Resize, rotate, mirror, add/remove copies, and nest images without leaving the layout view.
Automatic Nesting with Auto-Rotation
SoftRIP’s Smart Nesting tools create efficient layouts automatically, whether you prepare your images directly in the layout window or hold single jobs to arrange later. Smart Nesting with auto-rotation changes image orientation to effortlessly maximize media savings. Wasatch RIPs each image individually so you dont have to reprocess jobs to use them in new layouts. Create blended layouts later by nesting new images together with pre-RIPd files from your print queue.
