Veripress now ready for European Gravure printers

Wednesday 09. January 2008 - Serendipity will be showing their new Veirpress softproofing technology at next weeks GAA (Gravure Assocation of America) conference in Florida.

Based on the great success at Veripress achieved at the recent PIA/GATF colour management conference in Phoenix Arizona, where there was standing room only around their vendor table as US colour experts gave the thumbs up to this next generation of proofing technology. The system includes a built-in self-managed certification system to any print standard, covering commercial sheet-fed, packaging, magazine, Gravure and newspaper applications.

Mr Robert Murphy, from Sandstone Software said, “Serendipity conducted indepth research by talking to printers from all over the world and now designed a system that delivers. Printers indicated that a mouse and keyboard approach to softproofing at the press console was simply not going to work. Mr Murphy went on to say, “The dynamic touch screen control with it’s instant response gives the printer access to any part of the printing job in an instant. The combination of colour accurate display and high speed delivery to any press console is here to stay and will quickly be adopted by printers as they converge to Drupa in May this year.

Veripress is included as standard with all Serendipity Blackmagic V3.5 inkjet proofing systems meaning, a low cost upgrade for many printers. Veripress now helps them save on proofing costs, as there is no “click charge” or the need of on-going consumable expenses.

US colour experts were quick to realize the benefits of Serendipity’s server based software that runs in Windows, Mac OSX and Linux with unlimited GUI clients. GUI clients can be installed on any customer’s networked computer, providing online verification using the same Calcheck chart, ensuring consistent viewing of the same.

Graham Page, from Sandstone Europe says, ” Already we have a printer with Veripress who after three months of use, has turned off their four inkjet proofing systems and relies on the speed and precision of Veripress. For the first time the printer can see exactly how the job should look. US and European newspaper are also winding down their inkjet printers aand making the switch to “Certified” softproofing.

International and local dealers interested in being part of the new winning technology for their printer customers should contact the international distributor on the Serendipity web-site. Veripress will make it’s European appearance at the Fogra symposium in Germany in February. This will build Veripress to a must see product for Drupa in May, making it the most desirable product to buy during 2008.
