Express Newspapers chooses Multimedia Content Archive from dutchsoftware.com
Wednesday 09. January 2008 - dutchsoftware.com lists new major customer for its Multimedia Content Archive
dutchsoftware.com has been selected to supply Express Newspapers new Multimedia Content Archive, for the central storage of produced stories, images, audio and movies.
With an average approaching two million copies per day, Express Newspapers is one of the largest newspaper publishing companies in the UK and one of the larger additions to the growing group of international dutchsoftware.com customers.
The system will be used to archive all of the Express Newspapers publications, including its two popular daily newspapers Daily Express and Daily Star, several regional editions and a range of magazine titles, including OK!, a very successful publication with a global audience. It will also be used to archive web content and digitized historical material.
“We are convinced the Media Content Archive is a huge step forward in our archiving, retrieval and syndication processes,” said Steve Draper, IT Director at the Express. “dutchsoftware.com proved to have the perfect solution for us to archive our content. Its completely integrated with Woodwings Smart Connection Enterprise, archives Multimedia channels automatically and offers the content to our users instantly”.
Officials from dutchsoftware.com were quoted to be very excited about Express Newspapers decision: “Express Newspapers is one of the largest and leading Newspaper publishers in the UK” said Bastiaan Born, Commercial Director for dutchsoftware.com. “Their need for a flexible Content Archive was an instant match for our solution”, Born continues.
The UK based system integrator Media Systems Limited secured the deal in which the archive is offered in conjunction with Woodwings award winning Smart Connection Enterprise editorial workflow suite. Also part of the system is the wire feed management solution Fingerpost.
The Woodwing integrated Multimedia Content Archive archives articles, images and pages automatically, keeping the relations between the different types of content. With an easy-to-use interface users can manage and browse the content in the archive, while a tight security system prevents unauthorized access. As a result, customers see significant time savings and production quality rises. All content in the system can be (re-)published to Print, Web and Mobile publishing channels, making it a true cross media Content Archive.
Other recent integrations of the Multimedia Content Archive are:
– Dennis Publishing (UK)
– De Pers (Netherlands)
– Veronica Magazine (Netherlands)
– Harian Kontan (Indonesia)
– Nederlands Dagblad (Netherlands)
