Versatile New Display Systems from Spandex set to Increase Service Capability for Digital Printers

Tuesday 08. January 2008 - Spandex, the pioneering one-stop supplier of complete and innovative solutions to the digital printing and sign making industries worldwide, has announced the introduction of four innovative banner display systems to complement its extensive sign system portfolio.

The easy-to-use and highly transportable products are designed for use in various exhibition and retail environments and comprise of the Banner-Fix Display, Stand-Up Display, Roll-Up Display and Motorised Scrolling Display systems. Each of the new display solutions has been tested to ensure complete compatibility with a number of high performance materials from Spandex’s ImagePerfect Digital media range, as well as with other major material suppliers. Print profiles for all of these materials are available from Spandex to ensure suitability for use with many leading wide-format digital inkjet printers.

“We are delighted to be adding to our already comprehensive line of sign systems with these four new versatile display products, each of which offers specific attributes to satisfy the varying needs of end-users”, says Lesley Coleborn, Sign Systems Product Manager at Spandex. “These products reflect our position as a total solutions provider, whose origins lie in the supply of sign systems. For digital printers, these new sign systems represent a significant opportunity to extend their all-round service capability and enable them to provide even greater value to their customers.”

The four new Spandex Sign Systems consist of:

Banner-Fix

As an easy-to-cut and quick-to-assemble method for producing hanging banner displays, Banner Fix is highly portable and can therefore be used in any location where digital graphics are needed. The system uses a stylish, silver anodized aluminium clamp rail to deliver the sophisticated finishing touch to eye-catching and effective graphic displays. Digitally printed graphics are clamped top and bottom with the banner-fix rail and may be suspended from cable systems or simply fixed onto walls using supplied hooks.

Spandex’s Banner Fix System is particularly suitable for Image Perfect Digital materials of Banner IP2113, a soft, flexible, premium quality, frontlit banner material; and Polyester Textile Banner IP2305, a specially coated, fire-retardant media, which like IP2113 is optimised for solvent-based inkjet printing. Banner-Fix also delivers great results when used with Semi-Flexible and Semi-Rigid products such as IP2905.This new-generation synthetic material has been specifically designed for wide-format digital printing using solvent-based and UV inks and possesses excellent ‘lay flat’ properties to make it a perfect choice for pop-up and roll-up graphic displays.

Stand-Up Displays – 200 Series
Spandex’s 200 Series of Stand-Up Displays is a highly portable and cost-effective, free-standing banner display system that is ideal for exhibitions and events, point-of-purchase, point-of-sale, and other temporary advertising display applications.

The Stand-Up Display range is lightweight, simple-to-use and very stable. Users benefit from a quick-to-assemble design, comprising of lightweight, silver anodised Banner Fix clamp rails, which allow graphics to be interchanged easily and rapidly. Spandex’s Stand-Up Displays are compatible with products from its Image Perfect Digital range, which specifically include Banner IP2113; Polyester Textile Banner IP2305; Roll-Up Media with Blockout IP2905; and Roll-Up media IP2909.

Roll-Up Displays – 300 Series
Despite its strong, stable and compact design, the 300 Series of Roll-Up Displays loses nothing in style and offers an attention-grabbing means of creating vibrant graphic displays of up to 85 x 200cm. As with Spandex’s other new product additions, the Roll-Up Display range is both lightweight and (trans)portable, making it ideal for point-of-sale and point-of-purchase retail applications as well as exhibitions and other temporary advertising and promotional requirements.

Spandex’s self-tensioning banner roll-up display systems are available in two models – 300 and 301 – both of which are silver anodised and can be assembled quickly and easily. The systems are particularly suited to work in conjunction with ImagePerfect Digital materials Roll-Up Media with Blockout IP2905; and Roll-Up media IP2909.

Motorised Rolling Display – 400 Series
Completing the line-up of new display systems, Spandex’s Motorised Rolling Display is a silver anodised, scrolling loop banner display system, designed to offer constantly updated graphics in point-of-sale, point-of-purchase and exhibition applications. The quick-to-assemble Motorised Rolling Display can be customised to any banner length and is particularly compatible with Spandex’s ImagePerfect IP2305 Polyester Textile Banner with ImagePerfect Seam Tack. Furthermore, the system delivers the capability to be wall or ceiling mounted for a double-sided effect, but at 3kg, is also lightweight enough to be easily transportable.

“The Spandex Display ranges are a new element of our sign systems portfolio and we are confident that their all-round functionality, cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use will see them well received by the marketplace and pave the way to additional Display systems in the future”, concludes Lesley Coleborn.
