76 young people are currently taking their first steps into working life together with Koenig & Bauer. At our two biggest Group facilities in Würzburg and Radebeul alone, 58 young people have embarked on industrial, technical or commercial apprenticeships. New on board are apprentices at our subsidiaries in Germany and Austria, and students on the dual system.

The search for an investor for the insolvent PPS. Imaging Group was successfully completed. Together with the insolvency administrators Dr. Dietmar Penzlin and Dr. Matthias Wolgast, the restructuring partners have found several investors for the German market leader in large-format digital printing. Over 200 jobs will be retained throughout the Group.

Bobst drives digital transformation in folding carton sector with launch of connected technology solutions

A combination of new BOBST visionary technologies will bring unparalleled levels of automation and digital transformation to folding carton converters seeking greater agility and efficiency in die-cutting operations. Flatbed die-cutter, MASTERCUT 106 PER, together with the novel digital recipe management tool, TooLink, epitomize the new BOBST vision, unveiled in June, for an entirely connected packaging production system.

2020 training year gets underway at Heidelberg – digitization continues to gain momentum

The training year at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) started on September 1, 2020. Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, another 99 young men and women are embarking on their training or dual study courses at one of the companys four sites in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Brandenburg, Amstetten, and Ludwigsburg.

All the signs point to growth!

All the signs point to growth – there is no question about that in the mind of Henrik Jung, technical director at packaging producer Heinrich Buhl in NeunkirchenSiegerland. In fact, the company has developed constantly ever since its founding in the Buhl family home in 1961. For the past five years, we have seen almost two-figure turnover growth, Jung says. The workforce has also increased from 40 to 60 over the same period.

Titan-Polymer Purchases Two BOBST EXPERT K5s

The Titan-Polymer plant based in the Pskov region of Russia has purchased two EXPERT K5 2900 mm vacuum metallizers which will be installed at their BOPET production facility. Both machines incorporate the latest BOBST technologies namely high speed metallization and a large 700 mm diameter coating drum. One of the machines is equipped with the BOBST AlOx process for production of transparent high barrier films.
