RAJA and Ranpak sign commercial agreement

Tuesday 28. May 2024 - RAJA, Europes largest packaging distributor, and Ranpak, a leading provider of environmentally sustainable, paper-based packaging, have signed a new commercial agreement to grow their sales of paper-based cushioning packaging solutions in Europe.

The agreement covers the joint development of paper-based protective packaging and the recruitment of 20 specialists by RAJA.
These are used in e-commerce and industrial supply chains to protect products from external shocks and temperature variations during shipping.
Under the agreement, RAJA and Ranpak will cooperate in the development of paper-based cushioning solutions, using the Ranpak R&D center in Kerkrade, Netherlands, and the feedback from RAJA’s customers. The agreement also plans for the marketing of new packaging solutions for temperature-sensitive products (e.g., food, medicine), such as the RecyCold Climaliner insulated packaging solution.
Under the agreement, RAJA will hire 20 additional specialists to advise its customers on the customized implementation of paper-based protection and cushioning packaging.
The agreement between RAJA and Ranpak is designed to answer the growing demand for alternatives to plastic packaging. In March 2024, the European Union agreed on new rules targeting 100% recyclable packaging by 2030.

We aim to provide the same level of service, quality and technical expertise to every customer throughout Europe,” said Catherine Cambier, Managing Director, RAJA Packaging and Industrial Equipment.
RAJA and Ranpak are long-standing partners. In the 1980s, RAJA was the first distributor to market Ranpak packaging systems in Europe. RAJA has since sold and installed thousands of these systems in 17 European countries.
Created in 1972, Ranpak is an industry leading provider of environmentally sustainable packaging, cold chain, and automation solutions. All Ranpak’s paper packaging material is renewable, biodegradable and curbside recyclable. It does most of its business in the United States and Europe.
