SCREEN Launches Truepress Ink SC+ for Truepress Jet520HD Series

Tuesday 31. January 2023 - SCREEN GA launched its original SC inks in 2016, enabling direct printing onto offset coated papers for the first time. Using the inks in its Truepress Jet520HD series allowed SCREEN GA to achieve fixation and quality that rivals offset printing.

SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) has finalized development of new SC+ inks for use in its Truepress Jet520HD series of high-speed, roll-fed inkjet presses and launched the inks in markets worldwide. SCREEN GA plans to stage Japan’s first demonstration of printing using the inks at the International Graphic Arts Show 2022 (IGAS 2022), to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from November 24 (Thu) to 28 (Mon).
SCREEN GA launched its original SC inks in 2016, enabling direct printing onto offset coated papers for the first time. Using the inks in its Truepress Jet520HD series allowed SCREEN GA to achieve fixation and quality that rivals offset printing. This has expanded the applications for digital printing to include high-quality catalogs and leaflets, items that could previously only be produced using offset printing.
In the direct mail market, the realization of one-to-one marketing utilizing high-quality printed materials has also made it possible to respond to client needs such as the creation of a sense of brand luxury or premium value. This shift has enabled SC inks to bring about major changes in the direct mail as well as the commercial and publication printing markets. The inks have quickly gained support from users all around the world.
SCREEN GA has now upgraded that original line to create its new SC+ inks. With this range, the application of primers or other surface processing is not required on a wide selection of offset coated and uncoated fine papers. These inks enable digital printing that can take full advantage of the different textures offered by many paper types.
Compared to conventional SC inks, the new range also provides higher density and an expanded color gamut as well as improved resistance to bleeding and abrasion. Moreover, they enable vivid color expression and reproduction of a deep black on par with offset printing. These features allow them to handle applications that require significantly higher quality and flexibility.
SCREEN GA is continuously working to provide comprehensive solutions to the commercial printing field utilizing its range of digital inkjet presses. In addition to expanding its own market share, it hopes these efforts will contribute to the ongoing growth of the overall printing industry.
