Graphispag takes place from 24 to 27 May at the Gran Via exhibition centre to coincide with Hispack
Tuesday 30. November 2021 - The show - which will take place from 24 to 27 May to coincide with Hispack - will showcase the latest trends in graphic technology, substrates, materials, inks, finishes and innovative tools for those who print and communicate.
It will take place from 24 to 27 May at the Gran Via exhibition centre to coincide with Hispack.
Graphispag 2022, the leading trade fair in the Iberian market for the graphics and visual communication industry, is preparing to contribute to accelerating the sector’s recovery, facilitating the necessary reunion of companies and professionals to share techniques, knowledge, experiences and practical solutions.
In this edition, the show, organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with Graphispack Association, aims to provide answers to the major challenges currently facing the sector, such as sustainability, digitalisation and the automation of production and commercial processes. It will therefore present a transversal commercial offer, integrating all printing systems, both traditional and digital, as well as the most advanced (functional, 3D or printed-electronics) with applications in industrial sectors.
The president of the Graphispag organising committee, Xavier Armengou, is convinced of the show’s role in effectively boosting the printing market: “It is exciting to meet again as a sector to put this complex period behind us. It is time to take advantage of the platform that this event offers us to boost the activity of our companies; to learn about technology, innovation and other ways of working that generate graphic products with high added value for multiple sectors; to share experiences and knowledge; and to decide, in a shared way, what we want our industry to be like”.
More synergies with packaging
In its sixteenth edition, Graphispag will especially increase synergies with the world of packaging and labels, one of the fastest growing graphic specialities. In this sense, its coincidence in dates and venue with the leading packaging, process and logistics fair Hispack means a significant increase in its convening power in this segment and a boost for the materials supply sector, which is common to both shows.
Brands, manufacturers and printers of containers, packaging and labels will find new graphic applications for their activity at Graphispag: from digital printing for short runs and personalisation of packaging, to new designs, shapes and finishes to stand out on the shelf; packaging prototyping; incorporation of printed sensors to achieve intelligent packaging or anti-counterfeiting systems, among others.
At the same time, Graphispag will show specific graphic solutions for the publishing world, design, advertising and large format, commercial and promotional printing, retail, decoration and interior design and industrial printing (textiles, automotive, ceramics, furniture), among many other sectors. To this end, Graphispag 2021 will focus on the printer, a key player in the value chain of the graphic product as, “due to their knowledge, experience and know-how, they are best placed to respond to the needs of end demand, incorporating the latest innovation in the sector”, says Xavier Armengou.
Personalisation, new supports, materials and more sustainable inks, as well as the latest printing and finishing technology will mark this edition. The results of their use and application will be on display in a large central area where graphic products aimed at these purchasing sectors will be exhibited. The samples, produced by graphic services companies proposed by the exhibitors, will serve to show the versatility and creative, functional and communication possibilities that printing offers, especially in the sectors where the reactivation is being most noticeable, such as textiles, commercial printing, outdoor and promotional advertising and events.
In this line, the director of Graphispag, Josep Alcaraz, emphasises: “our aim is to facilitate business, knowledge and the transfer of innovation in the graphic industry and visual communication sector, making the agents who print, both graphic services companies and industrial sectors and end customers, the protagonists.
Graphispag will also become an important sectoral forum for the graphics and visual communication industry. The event’s programme of conferences and workshops will be highly focused on enabling printers to update their knowledge of aspects related to business development, productivity management, digitalisation and the premiumisation of graphic products. There will also be specific presentations on packaging printing shared with Hispack, as well as for professionals from print-buying sectors such as advertising and marketing, design, photography, interior design and fashion.
Sector benchmark for demand sectors
In its last edition, held in 2019, Graphispag attracted 22,500 visitors. By sector, 33% of the attendees worked in the field of graphic services; 15% came from the world of design and communication; 37% from industrial sectors, manufacturers and distributors, while 6% corresponded to brands and end users. The remaining percentage included other groups (training, entities and associations, consultancy, press, etc.).
The study of visitor data reveals that 61% of the 100 largest Spanish graphic arts companies visit Graphispag. 53% of the leading firms in the label sector, 37% of those in flexible packaging, 34% of those in general packaging, 21% of those in cardboard packaging and 18% of those in plastic packaging also attended the show. As for other sectors, Graphispag attracts leading companies (top 100 ranking) from the retail, publishing and fashion sectors.
