Esko and CERM reach their 100th joint customer with Estrabols

Wednesday 06. October 2021 - Two of the leading companies for software solutions have reached a milestone in their cooperation. French label specialist Estrabols recently became the 100th joint customer to have Eskos Automation Engine and CERMs Management Information System (MIS) installed.

Esko, a global company, develops integrated hardware and software solutions for the packaging industry and CERM provides robust integrated workflow software solutions specifically designed for the packaging and label sector. The two companies have teamed up to offer joint customers a complete solution with workflow automation and management information system.
“We are pleased to have once again partnered with CERM to provide our customer with a complete solution,” said Paul Land, Product Manager at Esko. “By seamlessly integrating our Automation Engine with CERM’s Management Information System, we can optimise the entire production process, increasing throughput and efficiency while ensuring consistent quality.”
Esko and CERM’s 100th joint customer was leading label supplier Estrabols, based in Béziers, which has been supplying France and the world for almost 70 years. “Thanks to Automation Engine and CERM MIS, the internal design department and pre-press work efficiently throughout, ensuring that the company’s high quality standards are always met. Automatic quality checks reduce errors by 80 %. In addition, processes are standardised and tasks are outsourced to the software for automated workflows, which significantly increases throughput,” says Paul Land.
Marine Estrabols, Managing Director of Estrabols, reported that her company and its customers were already feeling the positive effects of the new installation. “We feel it is very important and proud to invest in our people and equipment to deliver the best quality services and products to our customers. So, in the spirit of our ongoing development, we wanted to optimise our production process from start to finish.”
“When we installed Automation Engine, we thought it made sense to do it right the first time,” Marine Estrabols continues. “By combining CERM and Automation Engine, we can use the same data set for pre-press that CERM uses. This allows us to minimise errors and enable a faster turnaround time.”
According to Lowie-Pascal Geerinck, Product Manager at CERM, the combination of Esko’s Automation Engine and CERM’s MIS means that Estrabol’s customer service and prepress teams always speak the same language. “While Automation Engine delivers important data, correct views for tooling, the finished file and colour information to CERM, CERM automatically delivers the correct parameters to process the files quickly and accurately. This process is automated as much as possible,” says Lowie-Pascal Geerinck. “Our collaboration ensures complete prepress integration that fits with every other aspect of our client’s business. This in turn helps our customers shape the smart market of tomorrow.”
Geert Van Damme, managing director of CERM, says: “The first integration with Esko took place in 2004. In 2009, CERM and Esko won the CIPPI Award with the integration for the company 5Sept Etiquette in France. The CIPPI Awards are given by the CIP4 organisation to recognise particularly noteworthy JDF integrations. In 2016, CERM and Esko celebrated their 50th integration with Norwegian label printer Digital Label and today we celebrate our 100th integration with Estrabols. We look back on a history full of trust, cooperation, exchange of experience and expertise to provide our customers with the most efficient and comprehensive solution possible,” says Van Damme.
