Koehler Group takes over shares in Marienthaler completely
Monday 02. August 2021 - The Koehler Group has acquired 100% of the shares in Marienthaler Werbe-Offsetdruck GmbH & Co. KG at 100 %. Since 2019, Koehler has already held a majority stake in the company from Schleiden in the Eifel region, which specialises in distribution and production of drinks coasters.
The owner family Uhlmann is thus withdrawing completely as a shareholder of the company.
Marienthaler’s Schleiden site hit hard by flood disaster
Kai Furler, CEO of the Koehler Group states: “In order to bundle the know-how of the production of beverage coasters in the company, we have agreed with the Uhlmann family to take over all shares in the Marienthaler company.” The Marienthaler site in Schleiden was hit hard by the events of the flood of the century in recent days. The production facilities at the site in Schleiden-Gemünd in the Eifel region were massively damaged by the natural events. “Irrespective of the takeover, we have to state that a resumption of production activities at the site is not foreseeable for the next few months due to the flood damage,” Furler continues. As a consequence, existing customer orders cannot be served as usual.
The next days and weeks at Marienthaler, with the support of the Koehler Group, will be marked by clean-up work and a precise inventory of the damage, which cannot yet be estimated. In the meantime, Marienthaler’s customer orders in Schleiden will be produced by KATZ in Weisenbach. KATZ, which also belongs to the Koehler Group, produces groundwood-based products, including drink coasters.
Former managing director remains as consultant
With the complete take-over by the Koehler Group, Andreas Uhlmann has resigned from his position as managing director. He will continue to advise and support the company and be available as a contact person.
