Embracing growth with the future of Commercial Print
Thursday 20. May 2021 - May, named after Maius the Greek goddess for growth, proved to be a fitting time to unveil more details about the new RICOH Pro Z75 B2 sheetfed inkjet press. Following its December preview, interest in the first B2 perfecting system running aqueous inks had steadily built.
By Eef de Ridder, Vice President, Graphic Communications Group, Ricoh Europe
This eagerness was fueled by a social media campaign that teased the arrival of the dragon and with it a B2 breakthrough designed to address a gap in the market.
One that combines high productivity with media flexibility and a wide application range to meet the full needs of commercial printers and direct mailers.
One that is optimised for quick turnarounds and backed by a Ricoh expertise and decades of experience.
Commercial printers were excited to see how it improves margins on todays jobs and combines affordability and high productivity media versatility.
They were keen to learn more about how it enables them to create new products and harness the power of digital to offer more value.
That highly anticipated unveiling took place earlier this month. I was proud to preside over two online events when we shared with more than 250 invited guests from more than 20 different countries the cornerstones the press has been developed on.
Cornerstones shaped by extensive co-creation conversations commercial printers from around the world had with our product engineers and executives.
They are:
Digital Transformation – Moving shorter runs from offset enabling easier, faster and more profitable production for direct mail, books, manuals, publishing and other speciality production.
Product evolution – The widest variety of application possibilities presented by the broad A3 up to B2 plus sheet range and media weights from 60gsm to 400gsm.
Technology development – Greater vibrancy, reliability and exceptional 1200 x 1200 dpi print quality at all speeds on uncoated, inkjet treated and offset stocks enhanced by Ricoh technology.
Customer Insights – System reliability and ease of use driven by a powerful new Digital Front End, Ricohs own durable stainless steel Piezo Ricoh print heads with auto cleaning.
Attendees learned how the next evolution in print opens up limitless possibilities to help business growth.
