Offset Printing
Diving into the new world of printing
Tuesday 26. November 2019 - Heider Druck GmbH in Bergisch Gladbach is currently announcing nothing less than a new dimension in printing. Last weekend the company officially inaugurated its new eight-colour press with additional coating unit, the KBA Rapida 106.
“Diving into the new world of printing” was the motto of the invitation to the inauguration, which made the heart of every friend of printed paper beat faster. This event was by no means aimed at nostalgics.
“The future belongs to the latest printing technology on which we are banking,” says Hans-Martin Heider, the fourth generation managing director of the family-run company steeped in tradition. “The simultaneous printing of the front and back sides of a paper sheet almost halves our production times and creates valuable capacity reserves,” adds Hans-Martin Heider’s brother and plant manager Guido Heider.
The three Heider brothers, Roberto being the third in the group, are committed to high quality and high performance in industrial sheetfed offset printing. “In recent years, print products have been partially devalued by mass providers on the Internet,” criticizes Hans-Martin Heider. “It is not the individual who counts online, but only the mass business with all its long-term negative consequences for the end customer. For us, on the other hand, top customer service is the focus of our activities. Interested customers are always invited to experience first-hand what high-performance printing actually means in our pressroom when producing their orders.”
A clear commitment to the future
Heider’s clear commitment to the essence and future of a print shop is convincing. The company has invested a total of around four million Euro this year. “No one who is not completely convinced of his project would do that,” confirms Hans-Martin Heider.
The investment volume includes not only the costs for the new high-end offset press, but also for the renovation and redesign of the pressroom, which was originally built in 1957. These measures were transferred to the regional trade.
As an employer of around 80 employees, Heider is well aware of its responsibility to the region. At the beginning of the year, four additional skilled workers were hired. Also with regard to a future planning, which became now in time before Christmas the reality.
