BOBST to debut folded carton tooling innovations at ESU Technology Forum 2019
Friday 06. September 2019 - BOBST will unveil new performance-enhancing developments for its MASTERPLOT and RUBBERPLOT machines at ESU Technology Forum, held September 13-14, 2019, in Luxembourg.
Debuting at the exhibition will be the Tool Initialization Module (TIM), compatible with both MASTERPLOT, a multifunctional plotting and milling solution for corrugated board and folding carton converters, and RUBBERPLOT, a dedicated ejection rubber cutter.
Tool Initialization Module (TIM) is a non-contact measuring platform that ensures reliable and accurate oscillating cutting, tangential cutting and creasing depth. It delivers perfect scoring in samplemaking and improves control of creasing and varnish blanket depth. When used for die-ejection rubber cutting, it offers perfect kiss-cutting enabling fast turnaround and precision.
The module negates the need for manual adjustment work to determine cutting depth and is designed to work optimally with Table Mapping Probe (TMP) technology, which scans, saves and corrects any unevenness of the table surface.
The BOBST team will also be demonstrating the novel, new Dieboard Measuring Laser Probe (MLP) at ESU Technology Forum. MLP is a modular platform that unlocks heightened efficiencies by enabling machines to measure dies with cutting and crease rules on exact positions of creases.
It generates measuring reports which can be retrieved or printed, enabling correction of the Steel Counter Plate before production, to facilitate quality and accuracy every time. Existing Masterplots can be retrofitted with MLP and TIM upgrades.
Luc Lauwers, Head of Sales for Tooling Division at BOBST commented: “We are delighted to be exhibiting these exciting, forward-thinking innovations at ESU Technology Forum. We have built upon our long experience and deep process knowledge of die-cutting to offer tooling solutions that bring value to the supply chain.”
“We pair our cost-efficient and high-quality modular tooling solutions with consultancy and support services that allow folding carton and corrugated board packaging converters to optimize productivity and simplify their operations. We are delighted to debut our next-generation technologies and their operational benefits to the die-cutting industry.”
BOBST MASTERPLOT has an adaptive high-speed Z-axis control for counters, combined with a strong, quiet and maintenance-free closed loop ball screw system for all axes (X, Y, C and Z). For optimal productivity, its integrated vacuum tabletop and pump securely holds material to prevent shifting. RUBBERPLOT cuts at high speed with a powerful air-pressured oscillating tool. The machine is ergonomically designed for uninhibited access from all sides and is available in two sizes. It ensures precise, effective and efficient cutting.
ESU Technology Forum takes place at LuxExpo The Box, Luxembourg, and showcases the latest technology and innovation in the field of die-cutting, including hardware, software, tooling solutions and substrates.
