Herts & Essex adds a second Anicolor
Tuesday 20. January 2015 - Herts & Essex Printers has traded in a 13 year old conventional Speedmaster SM 52 for a second Anicolor, this time round a Speedmaster SX 52-5+L, a five-colour (for specials and Drip Off work) plus a dedicated coater. The first Herts & Essex Anicolor had four printing units plus coater.
“We also run a Nexpress but with the Anicolor technology litho is competitive from runs of 250. The start-up waste, time saving and quality from these Speedmaster Anicolor presses is fantastic,” says Chris Ollard, joint managing director with his brother Mick. “We secured a great deal on the Heidelberg showroom machine, knowing it has had little use but has been well maintained.”
The company operates with five B3 Speedmaster presses from its Hertford base, running flexible days to meet the quality and delivery needs of its trade and direct customers. Now the new press has been delivered its portfolio includes: a Speedmaster SM 52-6; as SX 52-5+L Anicolor; an SM 52-4-L Anicolor; and two SM 52-2s. The company also has comprehensive finishing including cutting and creasing; thermography, foiling, embossing and cutting and creasing services.
The five- and coat format has become almost a standard for B3 Anicolors in the UK. The other development with anilox inking was the launch this year of the the B2 Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor, which Heidelberg expects to sell well in the packaging and labels markets where materials savings are greatest. Heidelberg supplies a range of consumables for Anicolor and conventional press requirements.
