Hogan secures the top finishing sales role in Heidelberg

Thursday 17. October 2013 - Mark Hogan is relinquishing his marketing role at Heidelberg UK, having been promoted to head up worldwide sales of finishing equipment at the company's German headquarters.

A delighted Mark Hogan says: “This is my ideal job. Heidelberg has the best line up of postpress products and, as the industry consolidates, there is a great opportunity because printers and finishers will need to increase their finishing efficiency to remain profitable. Products like the Stahlfolder TX series, for example, bring folders up to the equivalent level of productivity as the Speedmaster XL series in the pressroom.”
Heidelberg’s commercial finishing portfolio includes folders, stitchers, binders and Polar guillotines. The new Stahlfolder TX is a high performance machine which uses a new under-lapping feeder procedure similar to that used on a press to improve throughput. Available on machines in 82cm and 96cm it can improve productivity by at least 25 to 30% and in many instances much more.
Mark Hogan admits it will be a wrench to leave behind the close tight knit working community he has enjoyed at Heidelberg UK and its strong line in British humour. In Germany he will be part of a much larger team across three sites and he relishes the new challenge.
“My role in the UK meant I was in daily contact with customers. In my new role there will be many additional pressures and I know I will have to work to keep in touch with the market and reality on the ground so that we continue to focus on the customer’s real not assumed needs,” he says.
Gerard Heanue, managing director of Heidelberg UK, says: “This is an excellent opportunity for Mark. His product knowledge combined with his marketing and sales prowess will be put to very good use. We are sad to lose Mark from our own management team but we are delighted he is staying within the group and that he has been promoted to this fantastic role.”
The Heidelberg UK management team will now comprise: Gerard Heanue, managing director; Jim Todd, sales director; Ian Wilcock, service director; and Roderich Kirschenlohr, finance director.
