viscom düsseldorf 2011: Trade fair intends to continue serial success
Tuesday 03. May 2011 - It's a serial success: with a total of 11,660 trade visitors, viscom frankfurt reached a new record last year and increased its number of visitors by some 70 percent within the space of only two events - result of a reorientation now bearing fruit. From an event oriented towards technical and manufacturing themes, viscom has developed into a trade fair focussing to a much stronger extent on the themes of design and marketing as well since 2006.
As a result, it also more specifically addresses targets groups from marketing, the industry and the retail sector. “At viscom düsseldorf this year, we want to maintain and extend our 360° perspective on future technologies and challenges in all areas of visual communication”, says viscom Director Petra Lassahn. “This is why we have once again expanded our supporting programme, for instance, offering first-hand expert knowledge and showcasing application examples on a large number of special areas.” The coming viscom will take place from 13 to 15 October 2011 in Düsseldorf.
viscom with new subtitle from 2011
At viscom düsseldorf, the development of viscom into a central trade fair for all fields of visual communication will now also be demonstrated by its new subtitle “International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, Technology and Design”. It characterises the range and orientation of a trade fair featuring the classic fields of advertising technology, light advertising, (large format) digital printing and textile finishing just as much as the newer segments of digital signage or individual printing and design.
Reasons behind the transformation of the trade fair are also to be found in the changes in the media and communication industry. The classic boundaries between different media are becoming more and more blurred, and new media emerge. The challenge today is to utilise surfaces, objects and spaces equally and consistently. Decisive forces behind the innovations in the industry are not only design considerations but also technological developments. The change resp. the addition to the viscom subtitle takes account of this fact.
Many special areas round off exhibition area and visitor services
Special areas for special interests – they also form part of the new viscom concept and will again showcase products, services and practical applications this year.
Still known as the Inkjet Innovation Forum last year, the new Individual Design Forum offers everything to do with the digitally printed worlds, in cooperation with the raumPROBE agency. Some 150 innovative materials and patterns will be on display. In the special show “Individual Design meets Materials”, exhibitors present their most innovative materials and examples of realisation from the fields of furniture, floors and facades, walls and ceilings, textile and glass, as well as other material innovations, elements for PoS and brand design. The many and varied possibilities of individualisation are an asset in the design of, for instance, shops, foyers, reception areas, restaurants, bars, trade fair stands and in exhibition design. There will also be a repeat of the “From Pixel to Product” presentation which illustrates the digital workflow from the digital image to the final product. In the “Individual Printing Workshop”, a whole day is devoted to the theme of individual design. Experts will supply information on customising and finishing techniques, production procedures and technology, and provide examples of best practices.
For the fifth time already, the Digital Signage World as a fair within the fair is devoted to digital advertising and information systems. In the exhibition area, companies showcase complete solutions for the retail sector, information and routing systems, interactivity and content. Products will be presented for all kinds of locations, such as the retail sector, hotels, railway stations and airports, or public areas. In this way, the theme of digital signage provides the link with classic advertising and lighting technology, with the PoS/display segment and outdoor advertising. The offer is rounded off by guided tours, lectures and workshops as well as the Digital Signage Best Practice Award for innovative digital signage applications.
After the successful premiere at viscom frankfurt 2010 manufacturers and suppliers of display, PoS and packaging solutions will again provide an almost perfect overview of new materials and technology solutions at the DISPLAY/PoS World in Düsseldorf, showcasing the large range of media used in the industry. The DISPLAY/PoS segment therefore offers as great a variety as viscom itself which, with its established core segments as well as the newer segments like digital signage and individual printing, is the ideal point of contact. The traditional display SUPERSTAR, an award for the DISPLAY/PoS segment, is once again presented at viscom. It is awarded to exhibits from the Short-term, Long-term, International, Digital Signage und Consumer Packaging categories. Also at viscom: the presentation of the Platin SUPERSTAR to the winners of the golden superstars in the competitions in Germany, Poland and Italy.
