Argent Litho switches to Fujifilm’s lo-chem PRO-V system to aid ISO 14001 mission

Monday 28. March 2011 - Argent Litho, based in Wembley, London, has invested in Fujifilm’s Brillia HD PRO-V plates and 85 HD PRO-V finishing unit to help in its journey to becoming ISO 14001-accredited. Already PEFC and FSC certified, Argent Litho discussed its desire to reduce the chemistry in its pre-press department with trusted supplier Fujifilm when the time came to upgrade.

“We have been partnering with Fujifilm for a long time and use its LP-NV plates on an older processor,” explains Ken Varnham, operations manager at Argent Litho. “When we wanted to offer our customers an even greener service, we went to Fujifilm as we have been very impressed with its quality and service over the years. We knew we would get great advice and reliable green technology from Fujifilm.”
Argent Litho started using the PRO-V plates and 85 HD PRO-V finishing unit in November 2010, and though it is still early days, the results are already speaking for themselves: “The transition was so smooth and easy, and the PRO-V plates are so consistent that we have had no problems with them. The finishing unit is also practically maintenance free, and we anticipate it will make a big impact on the amount of chemistry we use and help us on our way to becoming ISO14001 accredited.”
The PRO-V system uses considerably less chemistry than processed plate alternatives, and the new emulsion technology adopted by Brillia HD PRO-V allows high quality conventional and FM screen printing. Brillia HD PRO-V utilises the latest low chemistry processing techniques to minimise the environmental impact of plate processing, and drastically reduces the chemical usage whilst using a much more environmentally friendlyprocessing solution.
“On top of the great products, the technical support Fujifilm provides is also exceptional and that is really reassuring,” says Ken. “We are very happy with our choice to partner with Fujifilm, and its lo-chem system will help us become a greener print service provider.”
