Management Moves at Toray Underline Commitment to Waterless Printing Growth in Europe
Tuesday 22. March 2011 - Toray International has underpinned its support for the European waterless plate business with the appointment of Junichi Ishii as Sales Manager for graphics and chemical products for Toray International Europe.
Junichi Ishii joined the company in 1997 after graduating from university. At first he focused on the sale of the Torelief photopolymer printing plate in the Japanese market. His sphere of activities has later been extended to overseas markets including China, USA, South America and India.
Waterless Expertise
As a member of Toray International, Inc (Japan), Ishii helped establish waterless printing in China during the last two years.
“My experience with photopolymer plates and my prior positions in other markets will be a valuable background from which to continue the growth of Torays waterless plate business in Europe,” he says.
“I have worked with label printers, and I believe there is a great opportunity expanding waterless market shares in the packaging and label segments. The increasing interest in waterless offset is very exciting and I am looking forward to translating printers expectations into business enhancing reality.”
Successful Term
Ishii replaces Shohei Koshiba who completed a successful four-year term resulting in new market developments including the expansion of the key newspaper business in Western Europe and the Middle East as well as increasing sales of waterless plates for commercial applications in the East European markets.
Koshiba has moved to Japan to take a leading role in the fibre optics sales department of the IT related Products Division.
