Screen Truepress Jet2500UV to Produce High-Precision Output at Graph Expo 2010

The Truepress Jet2500UV, Screen's award-winning grand-format UV inkjet printer, can print up to seven image layers without feeding the media a second time.

Thursday 07. October 2010 - At Graph Expo 2010, Screen (USA) will demonstrate the Truepress Jet2500UV’s advancements in image quality and throughput. The grand-format inkjet printing system not only opens up new business opportunities for sign makers and display producers but also commercial printers looking to tap into different markets. Visitors to the Screen booth will be able to see the 98.4-inch machine’s outstanding quality on a range of materials.

Designed as a true hybrid printing system, the Truepress Jet2500UV prints directly onto paper, vinyl film, banners and textiles, as well as metal, wood and plastic. It delivers photographic quality on roll-fed media up to 164 feet long and rigid materials up to 51.1 inches long as standard. An optional media feeder table expands to 122 inches the length of rigid media that can be printed.

The Truepress Jet2500UV combines eight-level grayscale printing heads and a maximum output resolution of 1,500 dpi for realistic photographs and crisp text. The printing system uses TruepressInk — Screen’s original flexible UV inks — with CMYK in the standard configuration, plus optional Lc, Lm and white inks. The ultrafine UV inks have a wider color gamut than those used in offset printing systems and provide an exceptional appearance.

The Truepress Jet2500UV’s ability to print on plastic film, sheets and board adds value to signs, billboards, vehicle wraps, posters, transit advertising and exhibits. Larger-than-life displays offer an affordable, attention-getting option to define the end users’ brands, promote upcoming events or roll out new products.

The Truepress Jet2500UV is ideal for large-scale multimedia promotions in which the client creates several poster designs and only prints a small run of each. In multimedia campaigns, color uniformity across different media is critical to expanding the range of expression that the end user can incorporate into the advertisements. The ability to print onto various media with a single printing system is integral to projecting a unified image.

Other key features:
• Production speed up to 366 square feet per hour
• Support for media up to 1.96 inches thick
• Drop-on-demand, eight-level grayscale printhead
• Variable drop size from 6 picoliters to 42 picoliters

New options to be presented at Graph Expo 2010 include a function for printing up to seven image layers in one pass and a secure substrate fixing system for handling corrugated cardboard.

Screen (USA) will demonstrate the Truepress Jet2500UV at Graph Expo in booth #1637, October 3-6 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
