Screen Truepress Jet2500UV Offers New Multi-Layer and Corrugated Options
Wednesday 06. October 2010 - Screen (USA) has announced the introduction of a new multiple layer function for the Truepress Jet2500UV. With the multi-layer option, the Truepress Jet2500UV can print up to seven image layers without feeding the media a second time. This further improves the Truepress Jet2500UVs versatility and increases its ability to print double-sided window stickers and day-and-night backlit displays, along with various special effects, such as embossed graphics.
Screens award-winning grand-format UV inkjet printer effortlessly handles both flexible, roll-based materials and flat, rigid substrates. Printing multiple layers allows sophisticated images to be viewed from both sides on transparent material. In the case of double-sided window stickers, the Truepress Jet2500UV prints the image layer, then white, then black, then white again before the final image layer is printed. The image and text can be seen as they normally appear, and each image can be different in order to show different messages when viewed from inside and outside the window.
Printing white between two layers of the same image also enhances the day-and-night effect of backlit displays. This results in extra density when the image is illuminated, yet ensures that the image remains vibrant when the display light is switched off. In addition, applying a layer of white ink below the image layer provides a 3D effect, like relief.
Corrugated option
Recognizing the expanding menu of media available for wide-format applications, Screen now offers a new corrugated cardboard guide option for the Truepress Jet2500UV. The secure substrate fixing system enables reliable transport of media and makes it possible to print directly onto hard-to-handle substrates. This ensures that corrugated board and other media that have a tendency to warp or curl at the edges stay completely flat traveling through the machine.
Screen (USA) will demonstrate the Truepress Jet2500UV at Graph Expo in booth #1637, October 3-6 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
