Tom Kelly Joins MEI as Corporate Sales Manager

Tuesday 03. August 2010 - Workflow expert will help creative teams streamline production and enhance their social networking presence

Managing Editor Inc. (MEI), an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for publishers, today announced that Tom Kelly has joined the company as Corporate Sales Manager. Kelly, who has more than 20 years of experience with sales and consulting in the professional publishing industry, will spearhead the company’s corporate sales efforts.

In his new role, Kelly will work with corporate publishers, including financial services firms, advertising agencies, corporate entities such as banks, and more. He’ll help streamline publishing for these customers, who often have marketing or communications departments that could benefit from the improved production management workflow offered by the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform and other solutions from MEI.

Kelly will also specialize in helping corporate customers gain more control over their social networking presence with MEI’s new Qwalla service. Qwalla lets users communicate across multiple social networks such as Twitter and Facebook while also managing RSS feeds. Some of Qwalla’s benefits for businesses include enhanced visibility via the built-in RSS directory and improved monitoring of social sites for relevant discussion and mentions.

“It’s exciting to join a company that has helped some of the world’s biggest publishers automate complex and tedious tasks,” Kelly said. “MEI offers truly compelling solutions for improving the production and delivery of marketing communications, catalogs and more — not just for print but also for the Web, e-readers, iPad, iPhone and other channels. I’m also looking forward to working with MEI’s cutting-edge social media tools.”

Previously, Kelly was an account executive for Quark, where he managed numerous high-profile corporate clients. Before that, he worked as an independent consultant for publishers in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., areas, in addition to holding the title of director of marketing and product development at Heldref Publications in the late ‘90s.

Along with sales and consulting, Kelly has hands-on experience with design, production and printing as well as converting print media to electronic media for content syndication. These skills will factor heavily into his new role at MEI as he works with customers to fulfill their unique requirements.

“Tom’s exceptional understanding of the corporate sector and its publishing needs is going to be a valuable asset to our sales team,” said Mark Leister, senior vice president of business development at MEI. “We feel confident having him on board as we launch new initiatives and focus on diverse new markets.”
