Arctic Paper shares a passion for natural fine paper with its customers

Monday 24. May 2010 - Arctic Paper, one of Europe’s leading companies in the field of high quality graphical paper, has a passion for paper and environmental care. Arctic’s belief to produce superior fine paper grades and to improve waste processes at its Munkedal Mill in Sweden in an environmentally sustainable way has been recognised and envied in the paper manufacturing industry for many years.

Each year more than 700 customers are invited to Arctic’s Munkedal mill to see for themselves the eco-friendly measures that the company has taken. Guests are able to view the unique development that has been made by the mill in a specially built Environmental Centre and even drink the water cleaned through the mill’s processes.
Arctic Paper is acutely aware of their customers objectives to fulfil their corporate and social responsibilities to the environment. They are pleased to be able to demonstrate to customers through these mill visits, the constant evaluation and improvement of their own environmental credentials; helping customers make a balanced and informed paper procurement decision.
Two recent visitors to the Munkedal mill were customers of the Robert Horne Group, Shelley Wood from MUSIC and David Nelson from Wigwam Print & Design. David Nelson, of Wigwam explained why the mill visit was so important “End users are becoming more sophisticated in their approach to evaluating the choice of materials for graphic communication. They need to be confident that the products they are purchasing are not only sourced from responsibly managed forests, but that the chain of supply and production is also accountable, to assist in their own environmental objectives. This mill visit has highlighted Arctic’s on-going and well established commitment to improving the environment and demonstrated how a ‘green’ mill performs in full action. We are now even more confident to recommend Arctic’s Munken Paper range to our clients.”
Today the mill in Munkedal is one of the most environmentally friendly paper mills in the world. The mill has one of the lowest discharge figures in the industry: where other mills may use 10 – 16 litres of water per kilogram of paper, the mill in Munkedal uses less than three.
The complete Munken Design range including the NEW Munken Rough is available exclusively from the Robert Horne Group.
