SUN CHEMICAL ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITIONS TO SOLARIS SYSTEM RANGE
Thursday 01. October 2009 - Sun Chemical has today launched new additions to its Solaris System, SolarScreen Whites. This new product range will offer the latest technology in UV Rotary Screen whites to give true combination printing with other Solaris System products.
The updated range of SolarScreen Whites provide the highest opacity base coat for a wide range of substrates and applications found in the narrow web market.
The high opacity and resistance properties of SolarScreen Whites make them the perfect solution for personal care and beverage packaging where the impact of a dense white patch on a clear label is most profound.
The following range is designed for high productivity and in-line overprinting in combination with suitable Solaris System inks.
ROTARY SCREEN COMBINATION WHITES:
SolarScreen Meteor Combination White is a standard Rotary Screen white base ink which can be overprinted with other Solaris System products, especially at high press speeds.
SolarScreen Polar Combination White benefits from the latest technological enhancements to give improved flexibility on even the thinnest gauge substrates that are increasingly being used in the label market. With faster cure and greater receptivity to other Solaris System products, SolarScreen Polar White takes rotary screen printing to new levels.
SILICONE-FREE ROTARY SCREEN OPAQUE WHITES:
Silicone-free rotary screen opaque whites deliver optimised print quality, even at normal rotary screen line speeds with added confidence in print finishing, whether overprinting with a Solaris System ink or coating.
SolarScreen Silicone-Free White has been proven to provide a receptive, high opacity base coat for other products and technologies within the Solaris System.
SolarScreen Fast-Cure Silicone-Free White is a new development providing even faster cure where needed for reduced roller build-up. It allows rotary screen printing to reach even higher speeds whilst retaining the excellent print quality and receptivity.
“We are excited to be able to launch this news series which will enable specialist narrow web printers to continue to deliver high quality, versatile and reliable print solutions for their customers, ensuring they stand out from the crowd.
“Sun Chemical is delighted to offer innovative products such as these, which push the boundaries of opacity, adhesion and press speed while maintaining receptivity to other printing processes for true combination printing,” says Uwe Boerner, European Sales Manager – Narrow Web, Sun Chemical.
