Combination follows on from buckle switch at Kensett

Exactly six months after announcing that it was breaking with its tradition of always buying MBO to take a Stahlfolder Ti 36, Kensett Bookbinders and Finishers has returned to Heidelberg for a KH 78 combination folder.

Thursday 03. September 2009 - Exactly six months after announcing that it was breaking with its tradition of always buying MBO to take a Stahlfolder Ti 36, Kensett Bookbinders and Finishers has returned to Heidelberg for a KH 78 combination folder.

“The Ti has been really good and the service and back up Heidelberg provides has been spot on. When we have needed parts they have been delivered next day from the UK or Germany,” says James Wheeler, managing director.

“We were looking to upgrade one of our two combination folders to prevent a bottleneck and to cope with the quicker turnrounds expected these days. We looked at MBO and Heidelberg and found the Stahlfolder represented the better deal and the minder preferred it. He felt the sidelay was better for the work we do.”

The KH 78 will operate at the 24,000 sq ft factory in Hove from 6am to 6pm daily with overtime alongside other finishing services that are offered including leaflet folding, PUR/perfect binding , wire o binding , saddle stitching , shrinkwrapping/polybagging. It can offer the trade printer the whole package with all the processes under one roof. The company employs 45 staff and has a turnover of £1.75m.

The new folder replaces a 1994 machine. Kensett has a total of nine folders.
