CTP - Computer to Plate

Grafische Bedrijf Goes improves business by installing violet chemestry free automated DotLine CtP

Thursday 27. August 2009 - In Nederland not all business is bad. Many smaller print shops do business as usual and hardly notice the "financial crisis". Many of these printers do even encounter a remarkable growth.

Like Grafich Bedrijf Goes in the south west of Nederland. About 6 years ago day to day business was done with 4 employees, today GBG employs three times as many and are just moved to a beautiful new building based on an industrial zone just outside of Goes. Both father Jan van Antwerpen and son Chris van Antwerpen manage this successful graphic company. Three year ago Chris joint the management and business increased enormously. A new 4 colour 2-up press was installed and digital printing was introduced.

?

In the beginning of 2006 GBG bought their 1st CTP device, a manual system. Within 6 months, because of improving and growing business, the unit was replaced by a much faster system, still manual plate handling, 30 2up plates/h.

End of 2008 Fuji introduced the new chemestry free violet plate and Grafisch Bedrijf Goes had need for automation. For many years Grafisch Bedrijf Goes and alfaQuest Technologies bv work together and though there are many automated CtP devices in the market the choice was easy.
alfaQuest introduced the DotLine CA55 together with the new Fuji ProV chemestry free violet plate.
The DotLine CA55 is a fast violet CTP recorder (40 2up plates per hour) and combined with the washout unit a new, environment frently combination is born. By choosing the Fuji ProV plate there is no longer need for a processor, it is replaced by wash-out unit. The wash out unit uses a Finishing fluid including gum which washes the plate without any chemistry or acids.

The BGB management is prepared for further growth target, the plate production is upgradeable to 60 plates/h. The general economy may increase to support our targets.
