A New Streamlined Organization and Leadership Appointments
Friday 14. August 2009 - To help DuPont meet the economic recovery as a stronger, faster and more agile global competitor, DuPont announced several changes yesterday:
Streamlined Organization
Key components of DuPonts more streamlined organization include:
Eliminating the five group vice president positions and existing support structure associated with the platforms that house DuPonts businesses;
Consolidating the companys 23 businesses into 14, each with clear accountability for profit-and-loss and cash management and a direct reporting line to the companys senior leadership team;
Streamlining the 14 businesses to drive decision-making closer to customers by increasing regional business responsibility and accountability.
Leadership Appointments
Effective Oct. 1, the following senior leaders and assignments are part of the organizational alignment. To see more details, please see the organization notice and company leadership organization chart.
Thomas M. Connelly, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, will be responsible for the Applied BioSciences, Nutrition & Health, Performance Polymers, and Packaging & Industrial Polymers businesses. Tom will also have responsibility for Integrated Operations which includes Operations, Sourcing & Logistics, and Engineering. He will continue to lead science & technology and geographic regions outside the U.S. Tom will focus on strengthening our R&D and regional connect and building out the end-to-end process for Sourcing and Operations. Reporting to Tom will be:
Diane H. Gulyas – President, Performance Polymers.
William J. Harvey – President, Packaging & Industrial Polymers.
Craig F. Binetti – Senior Vice President, Nutrition & Health, assumes responsibility for Applied BioSciences in addition to his current responsibilities, effective September 1. His new title is President, Nutrition & Health and Applied BioSciences.
Jeff A. Coe, Senior Vice President Sourcing & Logistics and Chief Procurement Officer, is named Senior Vice President, Integrated Operations & Engineering with responsibility for Operations, Sourcing & Logistics, and Engineering, effective September 1.
Uma Chowdhry, Senior Vice President and Chief Science & Technology Officer.
Regional Leaders – Doug Muzyka, Ian Hudson, Eduardo W. Wanick, Carl J. Lukach, Minoru Amoh, Balvinder S. Kalsi, Mike J. Oxley.
James C. Borel, Group Vice President – DuPont Agriculture, is named Executive Vice President. He will continue to focus on strengthening and growing our Production Agriculture businesses. Reporting to Jim will be:
Paul E. Schickler – President, Pioneer Hi-Bred
James C. Collins – President, Crop Protection
John R. Bedbrook – Vice President, Agriculture Biotechnology
Dean C. Oestreich – Chairman, Pioneer Hi-Bred
Mark P. Vergnano, Group Vice President – DuPont Safety & Protection, is named Executive Vice President. Mark will be responsible for the Building Innovations, Protection Technologies, Safety Resources, Electronics & Communications, Chemical Solutions, Fluoroproducts, and Titanium Technologies businesses. He will also lead the companys SHE, sales, marketing, sustainability, and communications functions. In his new role, Mark will focus on building a world-class industrial marketing engine that will encompass marketing, sales, brand, and communications. Reporting to Mark will be:
David B. Miller – President, Electronics & Communications
Thomas G. Powell – President, Protection Technologies
Thomas F. Schuler – President, Building Innovations
James R. Weigand – President, Safety Resources
Richard C. Olson – President, Titanium Technologies
Cynthia C. Green – President, Fluoroproducts
Gary W. Spitzer – President, Chemical Solutions
David G. Bills – Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sales Officer
Linda J. Fisher – Vice President SHE and Chief Sustainability Officer
Jeffrey L. Keefer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will move to new leadership responsibilities. In his new role, Jeff will be responsible for the Performance Coatings business, corporate strategy development, Information Technology and overall cost and working capital productivity programs. His role will be effective November 1 to ensure a smooth transition to the new CFO. Reporting to Jeff will be:
Terry Caloghiris – President, Performance Coatings
Phuong Tram – Vice President, Information Technology & Chief Information Officer
Don R. Linsenmann – Vice President, Business Process & Corporate Six Sigma Champion
Linda B. West – Vice President, Corporate Planning and Analyses
Nicholas C. Fanandakis, Group Vice President, Applied BioSciences, will begin to transition to his new role on September 1 and is named CFO effective Nov. 1.
