POLESTAR SECURES THREE-YEAR DEAL WITH MONARCH TRAVEL GROUP

Tuesday 02. June 2009 - Polestar has signed a new three-year contract with Monarch Travel Group, following the expiry of its previous agreement and a competitive three-month tender process. The contract covers the management and production of a wide range of marketing and operational printed material through Polestar Applied Solutions.

Craig Cherry, Head of Group Procurement – Monarch Travel Group, says “It was important to tender our requirement to establish market rates across the UK and Europe. Polestar responded with competitive pricing and clearly demonstrated that their investments in new technologies such as digital colour will ensure that they can meet our changing needs over the next three years.”

Tim Smith, Polestar Applied Solutions Managing Director, adds: “We have worked with Monarch for almost a decade, and with some areas of the business such as Cosmos for longer, and we are therefore delighted to have been awarded this contract, which we believe is testimony to the success of our relationship and the service we have provided.”

He continues: “As the incumbent supplier, a tender process is an opportunity to review how you have performed and to recognise how and where you might develop and improve the relationship further. We are pleased to have been given the opportunity to progress this partnership for another three years.”

The contract includes the production of some three million holiday brochures per annum, business stationery, luggage tickets, overseas products, boarding cards, airport signage and landing cards. Where appropriate, Polestar’s web, gravure, digital and sheet-fed facilities are used, in conjunction with Applied Solutions’ print services, e-procurement, cross media and e-publishing services.
