Learning Languages with Lingvo Is Easy and Fun

In addition to its high-quality language content, the dictionary application delivers special features to help users improve their pronunciation and vocabulary while making the process easy and enjoyable. A range of Lingvo x3 Mobile dictionaries provides audio pronunciations** for key words recorded specially for ABBYY by native speakers. Additional information about the correct pronunciation is available in the form of phonetic spellings. It also includes the most up-to-date audio phrasebooks (updated in 2008) that provide translation of common day-to-day phrases. The audio recordings are intended to help users improve their foreign language speaking and listening skills.

ABBYY Lingvo x3 Mobile also includes Lingvo Tutor, a flash-card vocabulary-training tool available for all types of Windows Mobile devices. Lingvo Tutor allows the user to efficiently memorize unfamiliar words using a range of simple, game-like exercises. A user can create individual lists of words for memorizing or use one of the sample word lists included.

User-Friendly and Customizable Interface

The interface is designed to make the user’s experience with the dictionary easy and efficient, providing fast, intuitive word look-up. The dictionary entries are specially adapted for small-screen devices and can be viewed in two modes – full and brief entry view. The “brief view” mode shows concise definitions for a given word or phrase with common translations only. In the “full view” mode, the application displays complete information on a given word with all translations, examples and phonetic spellings. Long entries can be easily viewed using the auto scroll function.***
