Screens PDF Polisher-Pro adds a touch of class to high quality large format printing
Tuesday 17. February 2009 - Screen has announced the release of PDF Polisher-Pro, a workflow solution to enhance images and PDF files for output on the Truepress Jet2500UV high-quality large format printing system.
When it comes to understanding colour, Screen has more than 50 years experience of screening, dot formation and colour management. That expertise has been exploited to produce PDF Polisher-Pro, the latest in its range of solutions designed to maximise output quality for its print-on-demand machines.
PDF Polisher-Pro integrates Adobe PDF Print Engine and Enfocus preflighting technology with Screens own Image Quality Management, providing a solution which enables the user to achieve the best possible quality from the printing device.
When a file enters the workflow, PDF Polisher-Pro processes it, enhancing and separating RGB images, before converting it to a PDF/X-1a or Tiff format, ready for output. The RGB colour conversion and enhancement applies image control derived from Screens famous scanning technology to improve magnification, sharpness and tonal characteristics. The standalone application can be automated to perform multiple tasks such as file checking, image scaling and adjustment of image tone, cast and colour settings. There are a variety of presets that can be applied to individual files.
When processing PDF documents, they can be previewed and individual image corrections may be specified for each separate RGB image. This is done in Adobe Acrobat using an additional Adobe Acrobat plugin. Customizable presets are available in PDF Polisher-Pro to fine tune specific needs, such as faces, jewellery and deliberate colour casts, which apply different levels of contrast, sharpness and colour correction.
The PDF Polisher-Pro system can be used with the Truepress Jet2500UV, or any other high quality printer that accepts Tiff or PDF output.
