Publishers choose Polestar for Christmas TV listings
Wednesday 24. December 2008 - For many years, Polestar has manufactured the key TV listings magazines, with the Christmas double issues the annual flagships for the publishers involved. For 2008, Polestar has once again been the trusted supplier to ensure these business-critical issues were delivered on time.
Starting on Dec 4th and completing on December 9th, the combined forces of Polestar delivered these double issues for H Bauer, BBC Magazines, and IPC Media. Within six days, across 22 presses and 16 binding lines involving six Polestar sites, the group printed, stitched and delivered:
1.8 billion pages
equivalent to 56.3 million 32pp sections
equating to 8.65 million magazines, including Radio Times, TV Choice, TVeasy, TV Times and What’s On TV.
Neil Dunning, Customer Services Director at Polestar Petty, says: “Achieving this each year is a monumental effort from all within Polestar in close co-ordination with our customers. The planning begins in March and the execution of such a critical production plan involving multiple sites is done with military precision.”
He continues: “We would like to wish all those involved in the process a very Merry Christmas – in front of the telly!”
