Wednesday 19. November 2008 - Ricoh Company, Ltd. announced today that its GR DIGITAL, the high-end compact digital camera launched in October 2005, will be on display at the "kansei - Japan Design Exhibition", a ten-day event to be held in Paris, France from December 12 to 21 this year.

Organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the exhibition is intended to promote and familiarize overseas consumers with the aesthetic benefits derived from certain sensibilities and values built into Japanese products. Based on the theme of sensibilities (kansei), the exhibition aims to showcase the history and craftsmanship inherent in Japanese manufacturing. As part of the event, a total of 104 Japanese products of outstanding design selected from a variety of fields will be exhibited at the Les Arts Décoratifs museum in Paris.

First marketed in October 2005, the GR DIGITAL was modeled on the GR compact film camera series introduced in 1996, which received rave reviews for its outstanding image quality. The compact, slim body of the GR DIGITAL, which is only 25 millimeters thick, is fully loaded with features that ensure a level of image reproduction capable of satisfying even the most demanding professional. Since its introduction, the GR DIGITAL series has been enthusiastically received by a wide range of professional and advanced amateur photographers. The GR DIGITAL was selected for this exhibition for the way it managed to miniaturize pro features in an elegant compact package.
