CTP - Computer to Plate
INTRODUCING THE NEW DPX 4 ECO
Monday 27. October 2008 - Experience the most compact, eco-friendly, 4-up CTP platesetter on the market at GRAPH EXPO 08
Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc., proves that less is more with the new DPX 4 Eco polyester CTP platesetter, debuting this week at GRAPH EXPO 08 in Chicago, October 26-29, 2008. The latest in Mitsubishis industry leading DPX line, DPX 4 Eco uses patented, eco-friendly processing technology to reduce chemistry usage and waste by up to 50 percent.
Mitsubishi Imaging will demo the DPX 4 Eco as well as a host of eco-friendly, right-sized products for small and mid-size commercial printers at the companys booth 5225.
“The return-on-investment on the DPX 4 Eco is incredible,” said Colleen Molkenbur, Senior Product Manager at Mitsubishi Imaging. “It dramatically reduces overall plate and labor costs, plus it has the industrys smallest footprint for 4-up CTP platesetters. No other 4-up, fully automated CTP platesetter can match it in price, performance or savings. Its a very profitable technology.”
DPX 4 Eco, like its predecessor the DPX 4, helps printers meet the increasing demand for quick turnaround, short-run color jobs. The unit can output 25 plates per hour at 2540 dpi automatically. Because it images to the punch, it produces plates that mount on the press in register. This accelerates pressroom make-readies by eliminating the need for several rounds of on-press adjustments.
Phil Ruschak, co-owner of the nations top Kwik Kopy franchise in Crown Point, Ind., is a big fan of the DPX line. He has relied on a DPX 4 since 2006. “Going from 2-up to 4-up, the cost of jobs dropped 30 percent,” Mr. Ruschak said. “I can see several jobs a week that we have now that we werent doing before installing the DPX 4.”
Add to this the ecological benefits of polyester CTPs smaller carbon footprint and Mitsubishis patented Eco processing technology. The DPX 4 Eco uses a field-tested, highly efficient “green” technology to deliver extremely stable plate development while reducing chemistry usage and waste. Replacing a typical multi-bath processor, this unique technology coats a thin layer of Activator directly onto the plate, which translates into a superior printed product. The DPX 4 Eco does not require a water supply or drainage, making the system office or pressroom compatible.
The benefits dont stop there. Time-consuming plate loading is a thing of the past. The DPX 4 Eco utilizes 200-foot rolls of Silver DigiPlate, automatically cutting the material to the size of the job. Changing the Silver DigiPlateTM material is as simple as swapping out the empty core for a fresh roll. The DPX 4 Ecos loading system does the rest.
The DPX 4 Eco has a footprint of about 54″ x 42″, making it a perfect fit for small commercial and in-plant facilities where space is at a premium. Installation is fast and easy, because it can be brought in right through the front door.
