HP Presents Industry-leading Digital Portfolio at Labelexpo Americas
Monday 01. September 2008 - HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press makes first North American showing
HP today announced a line-up of speakers and production demonstrations appearing at the new multi-vendor Digital Printing Experience exhibit in Hall F of the upcoming Labelexpo Americas, in Rosemont, Illinois, September 9-11, 2008.
HP will also present its industry-leading portfolio of HP Indigo solutions for label and packaging converting in its booth at Labelexpo, including the first North American showing of the new HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press.
“HP is changing the impression of digital as a short-run, test-marketing solution for label converting,” said Rich Raimondi, vice president and general manager, U.S. Graphics Solutions Business, HP. “HP and some of its most dynamic customers are showing how HP Indigo presses are ideal high-volume technologies for converters and brand managers seeking smarter supply chain solutions.”
The Digital Printing Experience exhibit will feature an HP Indigo customer producing its clients’ jobs live on an HP Indigo press ws4500. The Digital Printing Experience will also offer free seminars that include progressive converters discussing the ways HP Indigo technologies provide new opportunities, improve productivity and enhance their clients’ valuable brands. HP customers participating in the seminars include:
Jay Dollries, president of Innovative Labeling Solutions, Hamilton, Ohio
Randy Duhaime, general manager, and John Dion, co-owner, of Dion Labels, Westfield, Massachusetts
Maui Chai, president of Flexible Technologies, Orem, Utah
Andrew Farquharson, president, Dow Industries, Wilmington, Massachusetts
Steve Smith and Peter Renton, co-owners, Lightning Labels, Denver, Colorado
Dan Welty, marketing director, MPSDigital, Lansing, Michigan
Terie Syme, operations manager, Prestige Label, Burgaw, North Carolina
HP executives Christian Menegon, industrial business development manager, Indigo division, and Raymond Dickinson, category manager, enterprise graphics solutions, will also participate in the seminars.
The HP “Tower of Power”, which features real-time production of actual jobs, is a live demonstration of HP Indigo presses’ versatility. For the first time, the Tower of Power will be running outside of the HP booth as one of the main equipment demonstrations at the Digital Printing Experience exhibit. It will feature food and beverage label production specialist Innovative Labeling Solutions printing some of its actual customer jobs on the HP Indigo press ws4500, of which it owns two.
The HP Indigo press ws4500 will also be featured at HP’s stand at Labelexpo, #3223. Additional high-productivity converting solutions to be shown at the booth include the new HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press in its North American debut, the new HP SmartStream Director and HP SmartStream Label and Packaging solutions powered by EskoArtwork.
HP experts present on smart labels and packaging
In addition to the presentations and activities taking place at the Digital Printing Experience, HP executives will participate in Labelexpo’s main conference sessions during the show’s Security and Brand Protection Day on September 11. Jim Colby, ink supplies global packaging manager for HP, will participate in a two-part seminar at 9:30 a.m. on counterfeiting with a presentation entitled, “Brand integrity – a holistic view to the role and suitability of smart labels and packaging”. HP’s Dickinson will participate in a panel discussion at 1:00 p.m. on the same day discussing smart labels and packaging.
