Inkslinger gets greener with PRO-T
Friday 09. May 2008 - Fujifilm today announces that litho printer, Inkslinger Printing Company, has chosen Fujifilms Brillia HD PRO-T plates. Inkslinger is based in Croydon and works with companies including Royal Bank of Canada, the NHS and Smiths of Smithfield, the restaurant owned by TV chef John Torrode.
Anthony Becker, studio manager at Inkslinger, says: “Choosing Fujis PRO-T plates was a relatively straight-forward decision for us as we already used Fuji conventional plates and a Fuji processor. Also, over the past few years the environment has become a more important factor in decision making within our company. As the PRO-T plates are truly processless it means that we dont have chemical waste to dispose of, which saves us money as well as helping the environment.
“Fujis customer service was also a major factor in our decision to go PRO-T. Over the past few years I have always found them to be very supportive and extremely helpful and even though we are a small company we never feel like we are being treated like one.
“When we were buying the new system, Fujis customer support representatives visited us to test the plates on our press and provided full product training to our press minders and repro staff. The after care service has also been excellent.”
Anthony continues: “Since using the Brillia HD PRO-T plates we have noticed the plates are a lot sharper and are holding the lower dots better from one per cent to five per cent. We have had no problems with the colour at all.
“Nothing has changed in terms of drying time, run length or print finishing since switching to PRO-T, the only comments from our customers have been positive remarks about the improved quality and sharpness of prints that we can now achieve.”
The company is outputting the PRO-T plates on a Screen Platerite 4300s platesetter and is also using Fujifilm workflow.
Inkslinger was established in 1995 and has eight staff. The company has grown within the past two years, which has led to an upgrade of the repro department and a move to larger premises in Croydon.
