Kodak Promotes Kim Snyder to President, Entertainment Imaging
Monday 07. April 2008 - Eastman Kodak Company today announced that Kimberly A. Snyder has been promoted to President and General Manager of the companys market-leading Entertainment Imaging business, effective immediately.
As President of Entertainment Imaging (EI), Snyder will be responsible for all aspects of Kodaks business with the motion picture and television industry. This includes both the traditional film technologies used to capture and print moving images, as well as the evolving digital technologies that provide new imaging capabilities and the promise of a new cinematic experience.
Snyder will report to Mary Jane Hellyar, who is President of Kodaks Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group and an Executive Vice President of the company. Prior to Snyders appointment, Hellyar had served as the acting President of EI for the past 15 months.
“This is an exciting time in Kodak’s Entertainment Imaging business, with a number of key opportunities before us that require strong and visionary leadership,” Hellyar said. “I’m confident that Kim has the skills and experience necessary to maximize those opportunities and lead this vitally important and successful business. She has repeatedly demonstrated her ability to work effectively across boundaries to deliver strong results and build teams on behalf of the customer.”
Entertainment Imaging, which had revenue in 2007 of $1.1 billion, is the market leader in the sale of motion picture film, both for the origination of new content and the prints that make their way to the worlds theaters. EI also has a growing digital business, including post-production services offered by its LaserPacific subsidiary, visual effects provided by its Cinesite subsidiary, and a full suite of digital cinema services.
Snyder, 45, joined Kodak in 1984, and in 1998 moved into Entertainment Imaging. In EI, she has held positions in Finance, Regional Sales, and General Management. Since 2005, she has served as General Manager of EIs Image Capture business, responsible for setting the strategy to commercialize and market origination products to film makers around the world.
